  1. This will be a major political loss for Alderman Arena. He has wanted the rims back up despite the community coming together and vocalizing their displeasure. There is no question that as a result of his aggressive action in having basketball rims placed up, crime has risen, tennis play has decreased and families can’t have their toddlers play in the nearby playground.

It’s a shame that citizens have to waste time and resources to let the Alderman know what the majority feels about this issue. His supporters counter by calling those against the rims racists and that we just don’t want “outsiders” in our neighborhood. This is far from the truth. We just don’t want drug dealing trouble makers in our community. Put families first. John Arena will lose this battle.
