Local Crime from 16th District 1-1-13


A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 11 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 25 in the 3400 block of North Major Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 26-year-old man reported that three men approached him and took his Polish passport and $5 in cash from him, according to police.

AN EMPLOYEE reported that a man robbed the 7-Eleven store, 4859 N. Milwaukee Ave., at about 8:20 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 20-year-old employee reported that a man asked for change for a $100 bill, and that as he produced the change, the man took the bill and the change that he had put on the counter, according to police.

THE OWNER of the Mobile Star store, 5546 N. Milwaukee Ave, reported that the business was burglarized at about 3:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that the alarm system was activated and that when he arrived at the store he discovered that $30,000 worth of cell phones and $4,000 in cash were missing, according to police.

THE OWNER of the Wireless Communication store, 6000 W. Addison St., reported that he was robbed at about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that two men distracted him and a third man took two cell phones, according to police.

A MAN WAS charged with representing a police officer following his arrest at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, in the 3300 block of North Harlem Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A woman reported that after she was involved in a car accident with the man, he said that he was a Chicago police officer and displayed a laminated card that resembled a police badge, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Jose C. Navarro, age 53, of the 5000 block of West Patterson Avenue.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3400 block of North Narragansett Avenue was burglarized between 5 to 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the rear door was open and that two televisions sets, a digital videodisc player, three game consoles and a camera were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 5600 block of North Menard Avenue was burglarized between 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, and 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported he discovered that tools, cameras and printers valued at a total of approximately $7,000 were missing, according to police.
