Local Crime from 17th District 2-8-14


A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in the 4800 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 26-year-old woman reported that a man grabbed her and took her headphones, according to police.

TWO WOMEN reported that their home in the 5600 block of North Jersey Avenue was burglarized between 6:30 and 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The women reported that when they returned home they discovered that the back door was open and that a designer bag, a designer purse, a social security card, a passport and $3,800 in cash were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5100 block of North Kenneth Avenue was burglarized between 9:40 a.m. and 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was open and that two iPads valued at $800 were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4700 block of North Kenneth Avenue was burglarized between 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, and 1:30 a.m. the following day, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that speakers, a Blu-ray player, a Nintendo Wii consol, credit cards and a diamond wedding ring valued at $8,500 were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3300 block of North Central Park Avenue was burglarized between 5 a.m. and midnight Friday, Jan. 31, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door was open and that religious jewelry and $35 in coins were missing, according to police.

Lincolnwood

TWO MEN were cited for possession of a controlled substance and possession of an open alcohol container in a vehicle at about 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, in the 2800 block of Fitch Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle saw an open bottle of beer and a bag containing a substance suspected of being marijuana in the car, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as Micha A. Simon, age 20, of the 6500 block of North Kimball Avenue, and Zane Wagner, age 21, of the 7100 block of North East Prairie Road.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 7200 block of North Kildare Avenue was burglarized between 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that 20 designer purses, an iPad and a television set were missing, according to police.

TWO WOMEN were charged with retail theft following their arrest at about 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the women place two sweaters and a shirt into their bags and leave the store without paying for them, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as Wessie S. Smith, age 19, of the 7400 block of West Wilson Terrace, Morton Grove, and Tierra S. Lindley, age 20, of the 300 block of Gettysburg Street, Park Forest.

A WOMAN WAS charged with retail theft following her arrest at about 1:25 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman take two jackets and a sweater valued at a total of $648 and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Barbara J. Cmoluch, age 64, of the 4500 block of North Nordica Avenue.
