Masked men attempted to break into home in the 4800 block of West Catalpa


Two teenagers reported that four masked men attempted to break into their home in the 4800 block of West Catalpa Avenue at about 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The teens reported that they saw the men break into the garage of their home and that they fled out the front door when they heard banging on the back door, according to police. They said that two of men had rung the front doorbell earlier but that they did not answer, police said.

The teens reported that two of the men entered a black sport utility vehicle which was parked in the alley behind the home, according to police. The men were described as white and age 20 to 30, with one of them wearing a black skullcap and the other wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt.
