Local Crime from 17th District 4-26-14


A PAROLE officer reported that a man was attacked in an apparent gang-related incident at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, April 17, in the 4600 block of North Spaulding Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 42-year-old parole officer reported that as he was waiting to meet the man, he saw him being chased by two men and that one of them struck him on the head with a bat, according to police. The 20-year-old man reported that the men shouted gang slogans at him and chased him, police said.

A MAN WAS stabbed at about 2:55 p.m. Friday, April 18, in the 5100 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man was admitted to Saint Francis Hospital in critical condition with two stab wounds to the neck, six stab wounds to the abdomen and one wound to the upper left arm, according to police. Two witnesses reported that they saw two men run across Pulaski and a man leaning against a fence bleeding, police said. The witnesses reported that they saw that one of the men threw an object into the river, and a steak knife that was later recovered, police said.

A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about 1:15 p.m. Friday, April 18, in the 4600 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 18-year-old man reported that four men struck him on the head and body and that one of them was wearing brass knuckles, according to police. The man was treated at Swedish Covenant Hospital, police said.

A WOMAN REPORTED that she was attacked at about 10:50 p.m. Friday, April 18, in the 5600 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 20-year-old woman reported that as her 22-year-old companion was getting into their car, a man threw a bottle at the passenger-side window, injuring her, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, in the 3200 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 60-year-old man reported that a teenager displayed a handgun and that a second teen punched him on the back of the head and took $40 from him, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 1:20 a.m. Monday, April 21, in the 3900 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 32-year-old man reported that a man carrying a large hidden object approached him as he was entering his car, ordered him to open the trunk and took his chain with a medallion valued at $20,000, a diamond watch valued at $23,000, a diamond ring valued at $7,000 and an earring valued at $2,500, according to police.

A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly robbed the Payless Shoe Source store, 3401 W. Lawrence Avenue, at about 10:40 a.m. Thursday, April 17, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A store employee reported that a man approached the counter, handed her a note announcing a robbery, and took $80 from the cash register and shoes valued at $120, according to police. Responding officers found the suspect at the Chicago Transit Authority Brown Line station based on the description, he was arrested after he fled and was found hiding in a building in the 4600 block of North Kimball Avenue, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Cordero P. Holiday, age 26, of the 14500 block of South Marquette Avenue, Burnham.

A MAN REPORTED that a man broke into his home in the 6000 block of North Kimball Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered a man standing in the hallway with a flashlight and that his door had been damaged, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4000 block of West Rosemont Avenue was burglarized between 6:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Saturday, April 19, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that $3,000 worth of jewelry was missing, according to police.

A WOMAN REPORTED that her home in the 4000 block of North Keystone Avenue was burglarized between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. Friday, April 18, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a rear window had been forced open and that jewelry, a global positioning system device and $1,000 in cash were missing, according to police.

A WOMAN REPORTED that her home in the 4700 block of North Avers Avenue was burglarized between 11 a.m. and noon Saturday, April 19, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front door was open and that four necklaces, two wedding bands and two rings were missing, according to police.

A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 2:20 a.m. Thursday, April 24, in the 4200 block of West Touhy Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a car that was speeding and weaving, and the driver was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Daniel Y. Audisho, age 59, of the 6500 block of North Rockwell Avenue.

A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 2 a.m. Saturday, April 19, in the 6300 block of North Pulaski Road, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a car that was speeding, and the driver was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as David L. Lewis, age 28, of the 6100 block of North Francisco Avenue.

THREE MEN WERE arrested on drug charges at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in the 4000 block of West Pratt Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
Officers stopped a car that had an expired sticker, and the occupants were arrested after officers smelled the odor of marijuana and found about 70 grams of a substance suspected of being marijuana in the vehicle, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as Michael Choi, age 20, of the 4900 block of West Birchwood Avenue, Skokie, Do Hyun Yoo, age 19, of the 6200 block of North Washtenaw Avenue, and Reilly Jose, age 21, of the 5200 block of North California Avenue.

A WOMAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following her arrest after she crashed her pickup truck into a parked car at about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, in the 6700 block of North Cicero Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that a car sideswiped her and she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the car, according to police. She was arrested after officers smelled the odor of alcohol on her breath and she failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Megan Morgan Golden, age 30, of the 2300 block of West Addison Street.

A WOMAN WAS arrested on retail theft charges at about 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman conceal $457 worth of clothes, jewelry, cosmetics and shoes in a shopping cart and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Mayra Rivasplata, age 50, of the 6500 block of North Campbell Avenue

A WOMAN WAS arrested on retail theft charges at about 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, at the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman place $544 worth of clothing in shopping bags and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Abiodun Kassim, age 32, of the 2000 block of West Arthur Avenue.

A COUPLE reported that their home in the 6400 block of North Saint Louis Avenue was burglarized between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, according to Lincolnwood police.
The couple reported that when they returned home they discovered that the basement door was open and that a jar containing $2,000 worth of silver dollar coins and a pearl necklace were missing, according to police.
