Local Crime from 17th District 9-27-14


A MAN REPORTED that he and his girlfriend were threatened at about 2:10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the 4300 block of North Drake Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 29-year-old man reported that a truck stopped next to them and a passenger opened the window, displayed a handgun and threatened to kill them, according to police.

A MAN WAS stabbed during a reported attempted robbery at about 4 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the 4600 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 29-year-old man reported that a man approached him from behind and demanded his money and his cell phone, and that when he told the man he did not have either, the man stabbed him in the stomach, according to police. The man was admitted to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition, police said.

A MAN REPORTED that a man ordered his dog to attack him at about 2:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, in the 3500 block of West Melrose Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 29-year-old-man reported that as he was parking his car, a man with a pit bull told him that he could not park his car there because he owned the entire block, and that as he was getting into the car to leave, the man unleashed the dog and it bit him, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in the 4600 block of North Monticello Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 32-year-old man reported that while he was delivering food, a man displayed a handgun and took his cell phone and $150 in cash, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the 3400 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 44-year-old man reported that as he was withdrawing money from an automated teller machine, a man pressed a hard object to his back and took the $20 he had withdrawn, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 11:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, in the 4700 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 34-year-old woman reported that two men approached her from behind and that one of them pulled her necklace from around her neck, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her purse was snatched at about 1:20 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, in the 3800 block of North Monticello Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 92-year-old woman reported that a man approached her from behind her and grabbed her purse, according to police.

A TEENAGER was arrested after she allegedly stole a woman’s cell phone at about 5:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, in the 3900 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 21-year-old woman reported that a girl approached her and asked to use her cell phone, and that when she asked for her phone back, the teenager punched her in the face and fled, according to police. The woman said she and two witnesses chased down the teenager and retrieved her phone, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as a 17-year-old girl.

A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked and robbed at about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the 4600 block of West Roscoe Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 54-year-old man reported that two men got out of a van, punched him and took his handbag, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3200 block of North Keeler Avenue was burglarized between 4:30 a.m. and 9:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door had bee broken in and that a laptop computer valued at $1,200 was missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4400 block of North Spaulding Avenue was burglarized between 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a window was open and that $150 in cash was missing, according to police.

LINCOLNWOOD

A WOMAN was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following her arrest at about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, in the 3900 block of West Touhy Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that was speeding and swerving, and the driver was arrested after she failed field sobriety tests and her blood alcohol content was 0.206, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Juliana Djankovic, age 23, of the 7000 block of North Kedzie Avenue.

A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 4:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, in the 7500 block of North Lincoln Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
An officer stopped a vehicle that was speeding and swerving, and the driver was arrested after the officer smelled the odor of alcohol on his breath and he failed field sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Reyes Barragan, age 41, of the 1900 block of Glenview Road, Glenview.

A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 5:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman take jewelry and clothing items valued at $620 into the fitting room and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Nata G. Plieva, age 54, of the 3100 block of West Touhy Avenue.
