Local Crime from 16th District 9-7-2016

A MAN WAS shot at between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Shell gas station, 5959 W. Montrose Ave., but the man’s girlfriend reported the shooting on Sept. 4, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 23-year-old woman reported that she contacted detectives to determine if a report had been made about her boyfriend, who was shot in the abdomen on Aug. 20 and who has been at Illinois Masonic Hospital since the shooting, according to police.
When officers contacted the hospital, staff reported that the man walked in with a gunshot and needed immediate surgery but no one contacted the Police Department because the emergency room was very busy that night, police said.

A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly resisted officers at about 3:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, in the 4100 block of North Lavergne Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers responded to a report of people drinking alcohol and doing drugs near Dickinson Park and saw a woman and two men sitting on a bench, according to police. One of the men became irate and would not show identification or the park, and he was placed into custody, police said.
The man threatened to shoot one of the officers, spit on them several times, banged his head on the hood of a vehicle and kicked one of the officers, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Robert Harmon, age 49, of the 4800 block of West Irving Park Road.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, in an alley in the 3500 block of North Central Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 27-year-old man reported that after a man asked his gang affiliation, a group of five other men attacked him and one cut his arm with a broken beer bottle and took a case of beer and his backpack containing his wallet, clothing and a cell phone, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, in the 5300 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 25-year-old man reported that a man punched him in the face, knocking out three of his teeth, and then struck him in the head and body, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, in the 5000 block of West School Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 61-year-old man reported that a man displayed a handgun, took his cell phone and pushed him to the ground and that a woman who was with him struck him on the leg with a baseball bat, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, in the 6400 block of North Hiawatha Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 29-year-old man reported that as he was walking with a 28-year-old woman, and a man displayed a handgun and a second man took the woman’s purse containing two cell phones, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, in the 6100 block of West Addison Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 57-year-old woman reported that as she left her garage a man attempted to take her gold necklace and that she struck the man with her purse and he took the purse and fled to a vehicle driven by a second man, according to police.

A MAN AND a woman reported that two men broke into their home in the 4200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue at about 8:20 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that two men came to the and that when he attempted to close the door the men forced themselves inside and one of them displayed a handgun him and he fled out the front door, according to police. The 25-year-old woman reported that the men demanded money and that when she said that she did not have any they left, police said.

A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 3700 block of North Olcott Avenue was burglarized at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he discovered that the side door of the garage had been forced open and that a battery-powered tool valued at $2,000, a leaf blower valued at $300 and a global positioning system device valued at $300 were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 7300 block of West Farwell Avenue was burglarized between 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, and 6 a.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that the side door was open and that a sewer cleaning tool valued at $8,000, a locator valued at $1,200 and a chipping gun valued at $600 were missing, according to police.

THE OWNER of Euro Cafe, 3435 N. Harlem Ave., reported that the business was burglarized at about 2 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that the front door glass was broken and that $400 was missing from the cash register and $50 was missing from a jukebox, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 6300 block of West School Street was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that the side door of the garage was open and that a sewer cleaning machine valued at $3,500 and a trash pump valued at $2,300 were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 6300 block of West School Street was burglarized between 3:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that the overhead door of the garage was open and that a bicycle valued at $750, a box of tools valued at $300, an air compressor and a grass edger were missing, according to police.
