Local Crime from 16th District 2-8-17

A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly threatened three people at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at a home in the 5800 block of West Waveland Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 20-year-old woman reported that the man came to her home to pick her up and that when she changed her mind the man threatened to shoot her and two other men, according to police. The man was arrested on signed complaints and officers found a 9mm handgun in his possession, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Alejandro Figueroa, age 23, of the 2800 block of North Mobile Avenue.

A CHICAGO Transit Authority bus driver reported that a man attacked him at about 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in the 3200 block of North Narragansett Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 54-year-old driver reported that he picked up a man who attempted to use a bus card that did not belong to him and that when he took it away the man punched him in the face, broke his glasses, took the card back and left the bus when he stopped it, according to police.

A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly stabbed two men at about 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Charolette’s Bar and Grill, 6000 W. Gunnison St., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Witnesses reported that during a fight involving several people the man stabbed a 35-year-old man in the back and a 30-year-old man in the shoulder, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Orlando Valdez, age 34, of the 2900 block of North Nora Avenue.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 2:40 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in the 6300 block of West Higgins Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 21-year-old man reported that he was meeting three men for a ride and that when the men arrived in their car they got out of the vehicle, punched and kicked him and took his cell phone and three gift cards, according to police.

A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly threatened his girlfriend with two guns at about 11:25 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at a home in the 3300 block of North Orange Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 44-year-old woman reported that during an argument with her boyfriend he loaded a rifle and a handgun and pointed the weapons at her, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as William C. Currie, age 61, of the Orange Avenue address.

AN EMPLOYEE of the Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant, 5205 N. Nagle Ave., reported that a man stole 20 quarts of ice cream, three cakes, four mugs, three tumblers and four drinks at about 2:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

EMPLOYEES reported that a law office at 6200 N. Hiawatha Ave. was burglarized between 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, and 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employees reported that a glass door was broken and that four laptop computers valued at $4,000 were missing, according to police.

AN EMPLOYEE of CVS Pharmacy, 6417 W. Higgins Ave., reported that a man took items at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she saw a man place about 50 cosmetics items valued at about $1,500 into a bag and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.

A WOMAN was arrested after she allegedly attacked her former boyfriend at about 12:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at a home in the 5100 block of West Cullom Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 43-year-old man reported that his former girlfriend punched him in the face several times, stabbed him in the rib cage with a kitchen utensil and broke his cell phone, police said. The woman resisted arrested and was uncooperative, police said. The man was treated at Community First Medical Center, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Amanda A. Robertson, age 37, of the 4100 block of North Lavergne Avenue.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5500 block of North Melvina Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 4:35 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the side door was open and that jewelry, three guitars valued at $1,000 and $50 in cash were missing, according to police.

THEFTS of vehicles were reported between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Thefts were reported in the 5000 block of West Balmoral Avenue, the 4200 and 5000 blocks of North Moody Avenue, the 4800 and 5600 blocks of West Berenice Avenue, the 3700 block of North Austin Avenue, the 3900 block of North Nora Avenue, the 4900 block of West Melrose Street and the 6900 block of North Moselle Avenue, according to police.

THEFTS of catalytic converters from vehicles were reported between Feb. 2 and Feb. 3, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Thefts were reported in the 5600 and 5700 block of West Grover Street, the 5300 block of West Giddings Street, the 5000 block of North Mango Avenue, the 5000 block of North Major Avenue and the 4700 block of North London Avenue, according to police.
