Jeff Fest 2013


Songwriter Michael McDmermott, DOT DOT DOT and CTA – a tribute to CHICAGO – are among the headliners at the Jeff Park Arts and Music Festival which will he held the weekend of July 26 to 28 at Jefferson Park, near Lawrence and Linder avenues. The event is an official XRT summer festival and features Urban Folk Market vendors.

Fest-goers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and spend a day with their families. In addition to the great bands, a kids zone and extensive arts area, which is being coordinated by Arts Alive/45, will provide hours of entertainment for fest-goers of all ages. The event is sponsored by the Jefferson Park Chamber of Commerce, Alderman John Arena (45th) and the Jefferson Memorial Park Advisory Council.

The main stage will be located between the park’s baseball fields, while an eclectic mix of art and other vendors will line Linder Avenue along the west end of the park. Food trucks and an array of craft beers also will be on hand.

Michael McDermott is known for songs such as “A Wall I Must Climb,” while DOT DOT DOT was featured on FOX’s “American Idol” spinoff show, “The Next Great American Band” during its 2007 season. The Chicago Tribute Anthology will offer fest-goers the great sounds of the world famous band CHICAGO, with powerful horns and authentic vocals.

Other scheduled bands include Wishing Well, Pat Smillie Band, Hank and Cupcake, The Locals, Magic Box, Voodoo Kings, The Root Cause, Luna Blu and Poochamungas. Entertainment line-up is subject to change.

As a tribute to the area’s history and culture, the NW Chicago Historical Society will be running a limited number of historic walking tours of the Jefferson Park business district.
Admission is $7 on Friday, July 26, and after 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28. $5 admission is charged before 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Proceeds will benefit community scholarship, park and other programs.
