Another stabbing incident reported on CTA Blue Line on Chicago’s NW Side

A stabbing resulting in a man being critically wounded and then dying after being transported to a hospital was reported on Wednesday evening, June 25, on the CTA Blue Line near the Rosemont stop.
CBS News reported that the man died at Advocate Luther General Hospital after suffering a puncture wound to his thigh. A suspect reportedly was taken into custody.
It is not clear if the latest incident is related to the following reports:
A man was stabbed at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, while riding a train near the Jefferson Park CTA Blue Line station, 4917 N. Milwaukee Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 52-year-old man reported that he was on the train when he saw a man pacing back and forth holding a knife, according to police. The man reported he told the man to “take it easy” when the man became enraged and started attacking him with the knife, police said.
The man reported that he exited the train and walked to Community First Medical Center, where he was treated for a
“severe slash” to his upper right arm and a minor cut on his left arm, according to police.
The man received stitches for the laceration to his right arm, police said
The assailant was described as Black, age 25 to 45, 5-10 and 160 pounds, with braids, and wearing a green T-shirt and blue jeans.
A man reported that a man attacked him and attempted to rob him at about 6 p.m. Friday, June 20, while he was riding a train between the Harlem and Jefferson Park CTA Blue Line stations, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 59-year-old man reported that he was on an inbound train from Harlem heading towards Jefferson Park, when a man approached him and asked him for a cigarette, according to police.
The man reported that he told the man he did not have a cigarette when the man threatened to attack him if he did not give him one, police said. The man reported that the man punched him multiple times in the head and face, causing him to fall to the floor, according to police.
The man reported that the man searched his pockets in an attempt to steal his belongings but he was unable to take any-thing, police said. The man reported that the man exited the train when it stopped at Jefferson Park and switched to an outbound train, according to police.
The man transported himself to Community First Medical Center, where he received stitches to his forehead, police said.
The assailant was described as male, Black, age 20 to 25, with short black hair, and wearing a black shirt, black pants and gold Jordan gym shoes, according to police.
