Bus station work to move to south half
by BRIAN NADIG
Construction on the $25 million renovation of the Jefferson Park CTA Transit Center is scheduled to switch from the north end to the southern half of the terminal on Monday, April 22, according to officials.
The northern half of the bus terminal has been closed since last fall, but buses are expected to drop off and board passengers there starting on April 22, when the southern half will close. The project is expected to be completed this summer.
The renovation includes the installation of wider bus loading islands that are handicapped accessible, new signage and canopies, and LED lighting.
