Clerk’s office upgrade eyes March completion

Improvements to the satellite office of the City Clerk of Chicago at 5430 W. Gale St. are expected to be completed in March, according to the clerk’s office.
Work has been ongoing to rebuild and expand the inside of the office and to offer more services, according to Office of the City Clerk chief external relations officer Kate LeFurgy.
The office will feature several improvements including a new roof, a handicap accessible ramp and a lactation room, as well as an expanded waiting area with an extra clerk window.
"The new space was designed to keep lines inside the building and residents out of the elements while they wait," LeFurgy said.
The North Side satellite office is one of the busiest locations, according to LeFurgy. It is not uncommon to see a line of residents wrapping around the building during busy times.
Despite the construction, the office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and can be reached by calling 312-742-5375.
