Fatal crash reported

A man died and two others were injured in a multi-car crash at about 7:25 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, in the 5100 block of North Nagle Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs.
A 19-year-old man was driving a BMW with a 20-year-old passenger when it rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped in traffic, according to police. The impact forced the stopped car to strike two other cars, and the BMW then struck a tree, police said.
The 20-year-old passenger was pinned in the BMW and was extricated after the crash, according to police. The man was pronounced dead at Illinois Masonic Hospital at 10:50 p.m. from multiple injuries, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The man was identified by the medical examiner as Marion-Mario Tahiraj, age 20, of the 4200 block of North Meade Avenue.
The 19-year-old man was treated for minor injuries at Illinois Masonic, and charges are pending against him, police said.
A 35-year-old man who was in the vehicle that was rear-ended also was admitted to Illinois Masonic, where his condition had stabilized, according to police.
