Local Crime from 16th District 11-18-15
TWO WOMEN reported that three men broke into their apartment in the 5100 block of North LaCrosse Avenue and robbed them at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 22-year-old woman reported that as she was painting her apartment door, a man wearing a clown mask displayed a handgun and asked where her drugs and guns were, according to police. The woman said that two other men, one wearing a scarf over his head, also broke into the apartment and one of them pulled a 44-year-old woman out of the shower and they all struck the two women while demanding money and drugs, police said.
The women reported that the men took a diamond ring and a phone and threatened to kill them, according to police. They that they believe that the men were allegedly looking for a man who lives in a different apartment, police said
A MAN REPORTED that two men attempted to rob him at about 7:55 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the 5300 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 19-year-old man reported that two men got out of a van and one of them displayed a handgun and asked him if he is in a gang, according to police. The man said that he entered a business on that block and told the manager that he was being robbed and that the men fled in the van, police said.
A PIZZA delivery driver reported that he was robbed at about 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, in the 8500 block of West Rascher Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 37-year-old man reported as he was delivering food to a home, a man displayed a handgun and took $20 from him and $580, two cell phones and a bag of medication from his car, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 11:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the 8500 block of West Gregory Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 29-year-old woman reported that a man approached her, displayed a handgun and took her cell phone, a passport, $150 in cash and her keys, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 7:10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in the 5300 block of North Delphia Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 44-year-old woman reported that three men approached her and one of them displayed a handgun and took her bag and her cell phone valued at $500, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 8:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in the 8500 block of West Foster Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 51-year-old man reported that as he pulled his car in the driveway, two men attempted to take his cell phone, according to police. The man said that he fought back but that the men took his jacket, his car keys and $200 from him, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that three men attempted to rob him at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in the 3200 block of North Oriole Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that as he was walking his dogs, a group of three or four teenagers demanded his belongings but that hey fled when he lifted his shirt and showed them a knife in his waistband, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a man attempted to rob her at about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the 8400 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 42-year-old woman reported that a man grabbed her bag and knocked her to the ground, according to police.
AN 18-FOOT statue of Jesus Christ was damaged between 8 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, and 8 a.m. the following day in a parking lot in the 5000 block of North Elston Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A man with a religious group that often protests practices at a nearby clinic reported that a laminated sticker with writings on it had been placed on the statue and that when it was removed a mixture of glue and glitter had caused $10,000 worth of damage to the object, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that Mario’s Red Hots, 3801 N. Harlem Ave., was burglarized between 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, and 6:30 a.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that when he arrived at the business he discovered that the rear door had been forced open and that $150 was missing from the cash register, according to police.
