Local Crime from 16th District 12-2-15

A TEENAGER reported that he was attacked at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, in the 5500 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 16-year-old teen reported that five men wearing masks approached him and that one of them punched him in the face and body with brass knuckles and a second man struck him with a baseball bat, according to police. The teen was treated at Swedish Covenant Hospital, police said.

AN EMPLOYEE of the Jewel-Osco store, 7342 W. Foster Ave., reported that a man who stole liquor attacked him at about 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 22-year-old man reported that he saw a man take a basket containing liquor valued at $100 and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police. The employee said that when he attempted to stop the man, the man sprayed him with a chemical spray and fled in a car, police said.

A MAN REPORTED that his wallet was stolen at about 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, on a CTA train near the Harlem Blue Line station, 5550 N. Harlem Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 26-year-old man reported that he discovered that his wallet containing his social security card, his birth certificate, his driver’s license, a bus card and a bank card was missing, according to police.

AN EMPLOYEE of the AT&T store, 5224 N. Northwest Hwy., reported that a man stole a cell phone at about 7:05 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that a man took a cell phone valued at $700 from the display case and fled, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that a man threatened him with a gun at about 7:40 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, in the 7200 block of West Foster Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 20-year-old man reported that as he was driving with a 37-year-old woman, a man in a car shouted at him and that when he drove into a parking lot, the man got out of his car, pointed a gun at him and threatened to shoot him, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that Edison Park Community Church, 6675 N. Oketo Ave., was burglarized at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Then woman reported that she discovered that the basement door had been forced open and that a bag containing unknown items, framed art, miscellaneous tools, jewelry and $1,450 in cash were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5000 block of West Dakin Street was burglarized between 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, and 10:15 a.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the basement window was broken and that the back door was open and that jewelry valued at $7,000 and $6,000 in cash were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5600 block of West Pensacola Avenue was burglarized between midnight Friday, Nov. 27, and 2 p.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear door was open and that two laptop computers valued at $600, a tablet valued at $300, jewelry valued at $6,000, a bicycle valued at $500 and tools valued at $300 were missing, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5300 block of West Cullom Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a door was unlocked and that a television set valued at $200, a laptop computer valued at $800, a laptop computer valued at $500, $2,000 in cash, two pairs of earrings valued at $2,000 and jewelry were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5000 block of West Ainslie Street was burglarized between 6 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the back door was open and that $1,500 in cash was missing, according to police.
