Local Crime from 17th District 4-14-18
A MAN AND A teenager reported that two men broke into their home in the 3900 block of North Kenneth Avenue at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, April 7, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 47-year-old man and the 17-year-old teenager reported that when they returned home they saw two men exit the rear door carrying two pillow cases and that when the teen chased after one of the men and attempted to stop him, the man wrestled him to the ground and threatened him with a handgun before he fled and left the pillow case behind, according to police.
The man reported that when he entered his home he discovered that a digital video recorder from a home security system, jewelry, seven passports, SIM cards, a marriage certificate and $15,000 in cash were missing, police said.
The teenager was treated at Community First Medical Center for minor injuries, according to police.
The man with the gun was described as Hispanic, age 25 to 30, between 220 and 240 pounds, and wearing a black hooded jacket. The other man was described as Hispanic, age 20 to 25, between 5-7 and 5-8, and wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and a green bandana.
TWO MEN reported that they were robbed about 12:30 a.m. Monday, April 9, in the 3800 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The men, age 21 and 22, reported that while they were smoking in a parking lot, a man with a pocket knife and a man with a box-cutter approached them and demanded money, and took $123 from the 22-year-old man and $72 from the 21-year-old man before they fled, according to police.
Both men were described as Hispanic and age 25 to 30. The man with the pocketknife was described as about 6-2 and 190 pounds, with brown hair. The man with the box-cutter was described as about 5-5 and 155 pounds, with brown hair and wearing a gray hooded jacket and black jeans.
An employee of the Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant, 3843 N. Cicero Ave., reported that the business was robbed at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 8, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee reported that she was working alone and that when she exited the restroom, a man approached her, pointed a black handgun at her and said, "Give me all the money," and then forced her to open a cash register and took between $120 and $200 in cash from the drawer before he fled, according to police.
The man was described as black, age 20 to 25, about 5-6 and 150 pounds, and wearing a gray hooded jacket, dark blue jeans and a black ski mask.
A MAN AND a woman reported a man fired a handgun at them at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, in the 3300 block of West Peterson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 28-year-old man reported that as he was walking toward the 22-year-old woman’s vehicle, a red Nissan Altima automobile traveling south from Kedzie Avenue stopped near the mouth of an alley and that a man in the vehicle fired four gunshots at them before the vehicle drove away north on Kedzie, according to police.
The man was described as Hispanic.
TWO MEN reported that they were threatened with a handgun at about 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, in the 4600 block of North Monticello Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The men, age 24 and 25, reported that while they were searching for a parking space, two men displayed gang signs and one of the men pointed a black handgun at them before they ran away eastbound through a gangway, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that two security guards allegedly attacked him inside of Brudder’s Bar and Grill, 3600 N. Pulaski Road, at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, April 8, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that a family member was asked to leave the bar and that when he asked what was happening, a security guard allegedly attacked him, fired a stun gun into his stomach and that another security guard allegedly punched him several times in the face, knocked him to the floor and kicked him before he was dragged out of the bar, according to police.
The man was transported to West Suburban Hospital and treated for minor injuries, police said.
