SHOTS were fired at about 4:45 a.m. Thursday, June 14, in the 3700 block of North Olcott Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A man reported that that he heard two gunshots and discovered a bullet hole under his front window, and that his home surveillance camera showed the muzzle flash of two gunshots from a dark colored sport utility vehicle in front of his home, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested for allegedly firing a gun in an apparent domestic related incident at about 2 a.m. Monday, June 11, at an apartment in the 5700 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Relatives reported that a man made threats at the home and heard three gunshots and officers encountered the man in the bedroom allegedly holding a revolver and talked him into putting the gun down and arrested him, police said.
The suspect was identified as Fred Harris, age 70, of the 5700 block of West Lawrence Avenue.
A WOMAN reported that she was threatened at about 9:20 a.m. Saturday, June 16, while driving in the 5700 block of North West Circle Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 71-year-old woman reported that as she was driving a black sedan or sports car with a rear spoiler followed her and that the driver pointed a black handgun at her, threatened her for driving slowly and continued to follow for a few blocks until he turned right on Higgins Avenue, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Dollar Tree store, 5708 W. Irving Park Road, reported that a woman threatened him with a gun at about 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 15, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that he saw a woman stealing 30 pastries valued at about $50 and confronted the woman outside the store when she pointed a handgun at him and threatened to rob the store next time, and that she fled by entering a maroon Ford sedan driven by another man with a teenage passenger, according to police.
The woman was described as black, age 45 to 50, about 6-0 and 220 pounds.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, in a parking lot in the 5500 block of North Harlem Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 55-year-old man reported that four men followed him from the CTA Harlem Blue Line station, 5550 N. Harlem Ave., and yelled at him and punched him and took his Samsung cellphone from his bag, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested for allegedly attempting to break into a home in the 7400 block of West Gregory Street at about 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 18, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A woman reported that she was at home when a man rang the doorbell and walked away south after she answered, and that she heard loud sounds a short time later and went outside to see the same man adjusting her basement window with blood and broken glass on the ground before he fled, according to police.
Officers saw a man fitting a description and he was arrested after he was identified, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as LeShawn Lyles, age 50, of the 7600 block of South Bennett Avenue.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Convenient ETC mart, 3723 N Harlem Ave., reported that the business was burglarized between 1:30 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. Saturday, June 16, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to the business he discovered that a side window was broken, and that the hard drive for the store’s surveillance camera system and an unknown amount of cigarettes, digital video discs, liquor bottles, lottery tickets and cash were missing, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Taqueria Amigo Chino restaurant, 5601 W. Irving Park Road, reported that the business was burglarized at about 3:40 a.m. Thursday, June 14, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that he was in the basement preparing meat when he heard the glass side door shatter, and that he saw a man smashing cash register equipment and the man grabbed the register box containing $2,100 in cash and fled, according to police.
The man was described as approximately 5-4 to 5-6 and wearing a white hat.
TWO teenagers reported that a man exposed himself at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, in an alley in the 7700 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 16-year-old teens reported that they were sitting in a parked vehicle and saw an unknown young girl walking west down Bryn Mawr when a man emerged from an alley across the street and masturbated in public before fleeing, according to police.
The man was described as white, age 40 to 50, about 5-9 to 6-0 and 200 to 240 pounds, with short red/auburn colored hair, and wearing a blue sleeveless shirt and blue spandex shorts.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5300 block of North Melvina Avenue was burglarized between 10:35 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Thursday, June 14, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a camera valued at $75, an iPad tablet device valued at $300, a laptop computer valued at $1,000 and an engagement ring valued at $3,000 were missing, according to police.
SEVERAL vehicle thefts were reported between June 11 and 18, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Thefts were reported in the 6300 block of North Mobile Avenue, the 5200 block of West School Street, the 3300 block of North Plainfield Avenue, the 5900 block of West Montrose Avenue and the 4800 block of West Irving Park Road.
