Local Crime from 16th District 6-27-18
A MAN WALKED into the Community First Medical Center, 5645 W. Addison St., with a gunshot wound to his thigh at about 10:45 p.m. Thursday, June 21, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 20-year-old man reported that he was drinking with a friend at his home and that they left to get food and meet with women, and while they were walking, he felt pain in his lower left thigh and discovered he had been shot, according to police. The man was uncooperative about the location he was at when he had been shot, police said.
An employee of the medical center reported that the man arrived at the hospital for treatment with another man, and that the other man had left the hospital, according to police.
The man was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition, according to police.
A WAS SHOT at about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in the 4000 block of North Mango Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 33-year-old man reported that while he was riding his bicycle eastbound on West Austin Avenue and turned north onto Mango Avenue, he heard gunshots, felt pain in his right forearm and discovered he had been shot, according to police.
Officers recovered two empty shell casings in the 5700 block of West Irving Park Road and discovered a bullet hole in a window to a residence across the street, and that there was a trail of blood on the ground along Mango Avenue, police said.
The man was transported to Community First Medical Center and later transported to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, according to police.
A CHICAGO PARK District employee reported that five gunshots were fired from a passing car at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday, June 21, toward Jefferson Memorial Park, 4822 N. Long Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
No one was reported injured, and the vehicle was described as a black sedan, according to police.
A MAN WAS robbed at about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, on the platform at the Jefferson Park Metra station, 4963 N. Milwaukee Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 32-year-old man reported that while he was standing on the platform, a man that he has given money to in the past approached him, grabbed his arm and asked him if he had any money, and that when he said no, the man took his backpack containing an Acer tablet computer valued at $150, according to police.
The man was described as white, age 30 to 40, between 5-8 and 5-10, between 165 and 180 pounds with a tattoo on his face.
A MAN WAS charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespassing and property damage following his arrest at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday, June 23, in the 5900 block of West School Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A man reported that while he and his relatives were sleeping he had been awakened by the sound of noises downstairs in the home, and that when he walked downstairs he discovered that a man was hiding in the living room, according to police.
Officers arrested the man after he exited the rear of the residence and resisted arrest, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Dawid Kurczyk, age 25, of the 2600 block of North 73rd Street, Elmwood Park.
A WOMAN reported that a man threatened her with a handgun at about 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, in the 5600 block of North Mason Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that while she was inside her home, she saw two men outside standing in front of her car and heard a "sawing" sound, and that when she went outside, one of the men pointed a handgun at her and said, "Get away," before they entered a dark green sport utility vehicle and drove away, according to police.
The men were described as black.
A PIZZA delivery driver reported that three men stole his vehicle at about 5 p.m. Friday, June 22, in the 5600 block of West Eastwood Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The delivery driver reported that he exited his vehicle with the keys still inside to deliver pizza and he heard his engine turn on and saw three men inside his vehicle who drove away, according to police.
The man reported that the men parked and exited the vehicle in the 4300 block of North Central Avenue and fled eastbound on West Pensacola Avenue, and that he was able to recover his vehicle, police said.
Two of the men were described as white/Hispanic, age 16 to 18, between 5-5 and 5-6, one wearing a gray shirt and one wearing a blue sweatshirt, and the man who drove the vehicle was described as white, age 16 to 18, between 5-5 and 5-6 and wearing a red hooded jacket.
A MAN REPORTED that a vehicle and tools were stolen from the garage of his residence in the 5000 block of West Agatite Avenue between 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, and 6:30 a.m. Thursday, June 21, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he entered his garage he discovered that a sliding glass window had been removed and that tools valued at $2,900, three air compressors valued at $1,100, a set of vehicle keys and a dark blue 2003 Chevrolet Express van were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her vehicle and the garage of her residence in the 6000 block of North Nassau Avenue were burglarized between 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, and 6:55 a.m. Friday, June 22, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned to her vehicle she discovered that the front passenger door had been opened and that the stereo valued at $500, a checkbook and her remote garage door opener were missing, and that when she entered her garage she discovered that various tools valued at $1,000 and a Toro lawn mower valued at $400 were missing, according to police.
