Local Crime from 17th District 10-27-18
A MAN WAS shot at about 2:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, in the 3300 block of West Montrose Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 23-year-old man reported that while he was walking he heard three gunshots, felt pain in his upper right thigh, fell to the ground and discovered that he had been shot, according to police.
The man was treated at Illinois Masonic Hospital, police said.
SHOTS WERE FIRED at about 4:05 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in the 3600 block of West Montrose Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A witness reported that he saw six men approach a red Nissan Altima automobile in an alley and that two of the men fired several gunshots from handguns at the vehicle before f the men fled east in the alley, according to police.
Officers recovered three .380-caliber shell casings on the ground, police said.

A MAN WAS charged with burglary following his arrest at about 4:35 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, in the 4700 block of North Sawyer Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A man reported that the rear basement door had been opened and he discovered a man inside the storage room and that after he argued with the man, his son detained the man until officers arrived and arrested him, according to police.
The man was identified by police as Daniel Visinaiz, age 61, of the 4600 block of North Clifton Avenue.
EMPLOYEES of the 7-Eleven store, 3600 W. Belmont Ave., reported that the business was robbed at gunpoint at about 5:55 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employees reported that a man entered the store, approached the counter, pointed a handgun and said, "Give me all the money, give me all that you got," and took $45 in cash, according to police.
The man was described as white/ Hispanic, age 30 to 35, about 5-8 and 200 pounds, with brown eyes and short black hair, and wearing a green jacket and a red hat, police said.
A TEENAGER reported that two men robbed him at about 3:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, in the 3600 block of North Troy Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 17-year-old teenager reported that while he was walking two men exited a red Honda vehicle, demanded his cell phone and took his iPhone 8 cell phone valued at $600, according to police.
The men were described as white or Hispanic, and one of the men had black curly hair, police said.
A WOMAN reported that her apartment in the 3500 block of West Belmont Avenue was burglarized between midnight and 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she woke up, she discovered that the living room window had been opened and that a laptop computer valued at $1,500, books valued at $400, a desktop computer, a tablet laptop computer and a jacket were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 3100 block of West Eastwood Avenue was burglarized between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a rear window had been forced open and that a.380-caliber semi-automatic pistol, jewelry, six watches, credit cards and a safe containing his birth certificate and Social Security card were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3000 block of West Roscoe Street was burglarized between 7:20 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front door had been forced open and that jewelry valued at $1,950, a laptop computer valued at $700, a camera valued at $350, a backpack valued at $50 and $200 in cash were missing, according to police.
