Local Crime from 16th District 10-8-14

A TEENAGER reported that a man tried to lure her into his vehicle at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, in the 4800 block of West Henderson Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 14-year-old teen reported that after she got off a CTA bus she noticed a black four-door vehicle keeping pace with her and that the man driving the car lowered the passenger window, yelled for her to get into the car and threatened to shoot her after she ignored his requests, according to police. The girl said that she then ran home, police said.
The man was described as white and age 40 to 45, with a teardrop tattoo on his face and a pitchfork tattoo on his neck.

A TEENAGER reported that he was threatened at gunpoint at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, while he was walking in the 3300 block of North Nagle Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 17-year-old teen reported that a black sport utility vehicle stopped and a man got out of the vehicle, held a gun to his forehead and threatened to shoot him before he fled, police said.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5400 block of North Natoma Avenue was burglarized between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 41-year old man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear screen door was ajar and that five guitars valued at more than $15,000, a Nikon camera with lenses valued at $4,000, a computer and $100 in cash were missing, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4500 block of North Mulligan Avenue was burglarized between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 39-year old woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a side window was open and that jewelry and a cell phone valued at $700 were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that two apartments in the 5300 block of West Sunnyside Avenue were burglarized between 2:30 a.m. and 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 48-year man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the doors to two apartment units had been broken in and that jewelry was missing from his unit, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4800 block of North Central Avenue was burglarized between 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, and 9:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 48-year old woman reported that that when she returned home she discovered that the back door had been pried open and that jewelry valued at $1,500 was missing, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5500 block of North Long Avenue was burglarized at about 7:43 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 36-year old woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the frame of the front door was broken and that a laptop computer and $300 in cash were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4400 block of North Austin Avenue was burglarized between 6:30 and 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 48-year old man reported that when he returned home he discovered that basement door had been forced open and that various jewelry items, a passport and a 9mm pistol handgun were missing, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3500 block of North Long Avenue was burglarized between 5:50 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 23-year old woman reported that when she returned home she discovered a bedroom was open and that electronics valued at $1,500, jewelry valued at $530 and $600 in cash were missing, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5500 block of West Eddy Street was burglarized between 6:50 a.m. and 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 41-year old woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the basement door had been pried open and that jewelry valued at $1,000, an Xbox valued at $500, passports, social security cards, birth certificates and $1,100 in cash were missing, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 7200 block of West Coyle Avenue was burglarized between 3 p.m. and 7:20 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 44-year old woman reported that when she returned home she discovered the rear glass door had been shattered and that jewelry and a laptop computer were missing, according to police.
