Local Crime from 17th District 6-18-2016

TWO MEN reported that a man threatened them with a gun in an apparent gang-related incident at about 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, in the 4600 block of North Drake Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The men, age 18 and 20, reported that when they stopped their car at an intersection, a group of four or five men surrounded the car, one of them pointed a gun at them, and they drove away, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his neighbor fired a gun at him at about 2:50 a.m. Thursday, June 9, in the 4900 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 27-year-old man reported that as he was throwing out garbage, his neighbor fired seven or eight shots at him, according to police.

A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly threatened three men with a knife at about noon Tuesday, June 7, at a home in the 4000 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The men reported that they went to a basement to perform work and that a man came at them with two knives and made slashing motions, according to police. The suspect was arrested after he was found hiding behind a sink, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Jose Velasquez, age 35, of the Pulaski address.

A COUPLE reported that a man threatened them with a flare gun at about 10:15 a.m. Saturday, June 11, in the 4200 block of West Addison Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 30-year-old man and 25-year-old woman reported that as they were driving, a man in another car pointed a flare gun at them and said that he would fire it into their vehicle before he drove away, according to police.

A MAN AND A woman were arrested after they allegedly caused a disturbance at the Papa Ray’s Pizza and Wings restaurant, 3208 N. Pulaski Road, at about 8 p.m. Saturday, June 11, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 26-year-old employee reported that the two, who appeared to be intoxicated, entered the restaurant and yelled obscenities at employees and that when they were asked to leave, the man threw a tip cup at one of them, knocked over a cash register and pointed a butcher knife at them while the woman was shouting for him to cut them, according to police. The man was charge with aggravated assault and trespassing and the woman was charged with simple assault and trespassing, police said.
The suspects were identified by police as Salvador Nunez, age 26, of the 3100 block of North Hoyne Avenue, and Celina Barajas, age 38, of the 4700 block of West Hutchinson Street.

A MAN WAS attacked at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday, June 11, in the 3300 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 40-year-old man reported that a man struck him on the head with a pipe, knocked him to the ground, and struck him on the back and chest until he lost consciousness, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, June 12, in the 4400 block of North Elston Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 67-year-old man reported that and as he was standing over his bicycle, a man asked about the bike, pushed him off the bike and rode away, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that a man broke into her home in the 5700 block of North Lowell Avenue at about 12:45 p.m. Friday, June 10, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 91-year-old woman reported that a man rang her doorbell, entered her home and took an envelope containing $1,000, police said.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4700 block of North Sawyer Avenue was burglarized between 4:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front window was open and that jewelry valued at $8,000 was missing from a jewelry box, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3900 block of West Cornelia Avenue was burglarized at about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that a rear door was open and that her purse containing her cell phone and her wallet with credit cards was missing, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4000 block of North Central Park Avenue was burglarized between 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, and 2 p.m. Friday, June 10, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a camera valued at $1,000 and three sets of earrings valued at $350 were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4800 block of North Albany Avenue was burglarized between noon and 2 p.m. Friday, June 10, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that a rear window was open and that a pendant valued at $1,200, seven gold bracelets valued at $500, a watch valued at $100 and $1,500 in cash were missing, according to police.

LINCOLNWOOD

TWO MEN reported that their vehicles were burglarized between 4 p.m. Thursday, June 9, and 6:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, in the 6900 and 7100 blocks of North Keating Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
A bag containing $20 in change and a wallet were reported missing from one of the vehicles, and $300 in cash was reported missing from the other vehicle, according to police. Both men reported that their vehicles were unlocked at the time of the incidents, police said.

A MAN WAS arrested following an incident that occurred at about 5 p.m. Saturday, June 10, outside the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
A Chicago Transit Authority bus driver reported that a man who was bleeding from a cut on his hand attempted to board the bus and that the man said that he was cut when someone robbed him, according to police. The driver said that he told the man that he could not board the bus due to the bleeding and that when he attempted to close the doors, the man placed his foot between the closing doors and punched the door window, causing the window to shatter into a spider-web pattern, police said.
The driver reported that the man fled through the mall parking lot, responding officers discovered the suspect at Pratt and McCormick avenues at about 5 p.m., and he was arrested after he was identified, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Selah Hill-Overton, age 21, of the 5000 block of North Albany Avenue.

AN EMPLOYEE of the Grossinger Hyundai Autoplex, 6900 N. McCormick Blvd., reported that eight vehicles were damaged between noon Saturday, June 11, and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, according to Lincolnwood police.
The employee reported that he discovered dents on the hoods of eight vehicles in a lot behind the business and that the damage appeared to be caused by individuals who stood on top of the vehicles, according to police.
