Local Crime from 17th District 8-17-19
SHOTS WERE fired at about 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, in the 4500 block of North Sacramento Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 30-year-old man reported that a man who was sitting in the passenger seat of a dark colored crossover-style sport utility vehicle fired multiple gunshots toward him before the second man in the vehicle drove away east on Wilson Avenue, according to police. No injuries were reported, police said.
The armed man was described as white/Hispanic, with a short hairstyle, and wearing a white T-shirt.
SHOTS WERE fired at about 11:40 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, in the 4900 block of North Drake Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers responded to calls of shots fired and discovered seven spent 9mm bullet casings and two spent .45-caliber bullet casings at the intersection of Drake and Ainslie Street, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested for allegedly threatening an off-duty police officer and another man at gunpoint at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, in the 4300 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The officer reported that he was standing with a man when the driver of a gray Lexus RX350 crossover sport utility vehicle traveling north on Kimball made a U-turn, pulled back up to the two men and pointed a black handgun at them, according to police.
Officers later arrested the man after he was identified, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Brian Perez, age 22, of the 5600 block of North Keystone Avenue.
A TEENAGER reported that he was threatened at gunpoint at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the 3800 block of West Ainslie Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 13-year-old teen reported that a man argued with him and then pointed a black handgun, racked the slide and asked, "Do we have a problem?" before the armed man fled south through an alley, according to police.
The man was described as white/Hispanic and wearing a red shirt and blue shorts or blue jeans.
A MAN REPORTED that he was threatened at gunpoint in an apparent road-rage incident at about midnight Sunday, Aug. 4, in the alley of the 4300 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 46-year-old man reported that he yelled at a man to slow down while driving when the man pointed a handgun at him and that he told the armed man, "Go ahead and shoot me, you better know how to use it," and the man drove away, according to police.
The man was described as Asian/Pacific Islander, age 25 to 30, about 5-8 and 170 pounds, with brown eyes, short black hair and an olive-colored skin complexion.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at gunpoint in an apparent gang-related incident at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, in an alley of the 3200 block of North Keating Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that he was standing in the alley when an older-model dark green sport utility vehicle drove up with two male occupants and the driver asked his gang affiliation, and that when he replied "no" the driver pointed a silver handgun at him and told him to empty his pockets, according to police. The man reported that he handed over his cellphone and wallet containing his state ID, a transit card and various bank cards, according to police.
Both vehicle occupants were described as white/Hispanic, age 20 to 22, about 140 pounds and brown-eyed.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 4:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, in the 3900 block of West Lawrence Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 67-year-old man reported that he was walking to a bus stop when a woman approached him, sprayed him in the face with chemical spray, pushed him to the ground and took his wallet containing his driver’s license, social security card and various bank and ID cards before she fled west on Lawrence, according to police.
The woman was described as black, age 19 to 28, 5-4 to 5-7, 120 to 170 pounds, with brown eyes, medium-length black hair, and wearing a red halter-top.
A LANDLORD reported that three of his properties in the 3400 block of North Keating Avenue were burglarized between 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, and 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to the block he discovered that the front doors to all three homes were forced open, and that at one house a contractor’s tools were stolen, while at another house another contractor’s air compressor and hoses, two saws, three nail guns and a radio and charger were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN AND her mother reported that their home in the 6100 block of North Keeler Avenue was burglarized between 1:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The women reported that when they returned home they discovered the side and front doors were opened and that $30,000 worth of diamond rings, yellow metal rings and watches, $10,000 in cash, two checkbooks and various bank statements were missing, according to police.
LINCOLNWOOD
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, in the 7400 block of North Lincoln Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
Officers saw a black 2019 Land Rover sport utility vehicle driving north at 80 miles per hour in the 35 mile per hour zone in the 6800 block of Lincoln Avenue and stopped the vehicle in the 7400 block of Lincoln, and the driver was arrested after he failed sobriety tests, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Frank Khobiar, age 38, of the first block of Elderberry Road, Thorold, Ontario, Canada.
