A MAN WALKED into Swedish Covenant Hospital, 5145 N. California Ave., at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday, July 28, after being shot, according to police.
A security guard reported that a yellow Nissan Xterra sport utility vehicle dropped a 23-year-old man off at the hospital’s north entrance and he collapsed while bleeding, and the man was treated for a gunshot wound to the left arm and stabilized, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested at about 6:40 p.m. Saturday, July 27, for allegedly firing a handgun in the 3800 block of West Wilson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A witness reported that he saw a man shooting at people at the corner of Wilson and North Hamlin avenues, and officers saw a man fitting a description running west on Wilson and detained the man in the 4500 block of North Springfield Avenue after, according to police. Officers arrested the man after discovering an unregistered 9mm handgun loaded with ammunition that was found to match two spent 9mm bullet casings recovered on scene, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Kaul J. Dut, age 22, of the 3700 block of West Wilson Avenue.
AN EMPLOYEE of the 7-Eleven store, 2900 W. Montrose Ave., reported that the business was robbed at gunpoint at about 10:30 p.m. Monday, July 29, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee reported that a masked man came inside and displayed a gun from his waistband, and took about $300 in cash and fled, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, in the 3100 block of West Ainslie Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 37-year-old man reported that he was walking when three men surrounded him and he punched one of the men when another man pointed a handgun at him, and that the one of the men took his Samsung cellphone valued at $800 and wallet containing four identification cards and $550 in cash, according to police.
The men were all described as black and age 18 to 21.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at gunpoint and that the robber tried to steal his car at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, from his garage in the 3600 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 38-year-old man reported that he was sitting inside his 2017 Honda Accord in the garage when a man approached, pointed a handgun and demanded his belongings and he handed his cellphone and leather wallet containing two bank cards, a gas station card and his driver’s license, and that the man tried to drive away in his Honda but was unsuccessful because it has a manual transmission so he fled, according to police.
The armed man was described as black, age 17 to 20, about 5-10 or 5-11 and 130 to 150 pounds, with brown eyes, a tattoo of a shield on his cheek, and wearing a white tank top.
A WOMAN reported that she was hijacked at about 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, in the 3200 block of North Kilbourn Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 61-year-old woman reported that she was walking from her car when two men approached and one man grabbed her by the neck while the other man pointed an unknown weapon and took the keys to her silver 2017 Chevrolet Cruze, which they drove away north on Kilbourn, according to police.
Early the next day at about 1:10 a.m., patrol officers found the Chevrolet matching the same description parked in the 5200 block of South Princeton Avenue, which was returned to the woman that day, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5000 block of North Monticello Avenue was burglarized between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 21, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered pry marks to his rear door, and that his black semiautomatic handgun and $600 in cash were missing from his bedroom drawers, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 4300 block of West Irving Park Road was burglarized between 11:45 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 29, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that his rear door was opened and that a gray backpack and a Toshiba 32-inch television set were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her apartment in the 4900 block of North Saint Louis Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday, July 19, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front door was damaged, and that $1,000 in cash and $2,000 worth of gold jewelry including three pairs of earrings, three gold rings and a gold necklace were missing, according to police
LINCOLNWOOD REPORTS 8-1-19
A MAN WAS charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest at about 5 a.m. Sunday, July 28, in the 6400 block of North Lincoln Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
Officers saw a silver Jeep Commander sport utility vehicle drifting in lanes while driving south in the 6700 block of Lincoln, and officers stopped the vehicle in the 6400 block of Lincoln and arrested the driver after he failed sobriety tests and was unable to provide proof of vehicle insurance, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Natividad J. Rocha-Maya, age 48, of the 5300 block of South Washtenaw Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that his vehicle was stolen between 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, and 7:40 a.m. Thursday, July 25, while parked in the 6800 block of North Lincoln Avenue, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that he discovered that his blue 2002 Audi A4 with tinted headlights was missing, according to police.
