Local Crime from 17th District 8-31-19
TWO WOMEN reported that they were kidnapped and attacked at about 4 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, beginning by the intersection of North Springfield and West Lawrence avenues, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 36-year-old woman reported that she was with her sister by Springfield and Lawrence avenues when two men approached, dragged them into a white four-door sedan and drove them to a first floor apartment in the 3300 block of West Wilson Avenue, where they punched the 36-year-old and then beat the sister with a chair, a metal stick and a glass ashtray, and that they were then able to leave the apartment, according to police. The woman reported that the sister was treated at Swedish Covenant Hospital, police said.
Both men were described as black with light brown skin complexions, about 5-8 and brown-eyed, and one was further described as age 20 to 30 with short black hair and the other man as bald.
A TEENAGER reported that she was robbed at about 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, in the 3800 block of West Sunnyside Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 16-year-old teen reported that she was riding her bicycle when a man placed an object to her back that she believed to be a handgun, demanded her items and took $80 in cash, according to police.
The male was described as black with a medium brown complexion, about age 15, approximately 5-3 and 125 pounds, with short black hair.
A MAN REPORTED that he and a woman were attacked in an apparent road-rage incident at about 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, in the 3600 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 20-year-old man reported that he was driving his Infiniti G37 with a woman when another man in a black 2016 Range Rover argued with them and walked to the passenger window and sprayed them both with an unknown chemical spray, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her apartment in the 4500 block of North Spaulding Avenue was burglarized at about 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that a relative returned home at about 2:30 p.m. and told her that the front door was opened with damage, and that when she returned home she discovered that four wristwatches valued at $2,500 and $800 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 5800 block of North Forest Glen Avenue was burglarized between 3 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, and 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to his garage he discovered that three triathlon bicycles valued at $3,150 were missing, and that there were no signs of forced entry to the garage, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home the 4600 block of West Berteau Avenue was burglarized between 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, and 7:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to his garage he discovered that his parked 2015 Acura MDX was searched and that a leather bag valued at $50, two pairs of sunglasses valued at $600, a cellphone valued at $600, a pair of hoop earrings valued at $70 and $100 in cash were missing from the vehicle, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that the garage of her home in the 4800 block of North Monticello Avenue between 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, and 4:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned to the garage she discovered that a charcoal grill valued at $400, a vacuum valued at $350 and a bag containing $200 worth of gym shoes were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that the garage of his home in the 3600 block of North Kenneth Avenue sometime around 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that he left the side garage door unlocked, and that when he returned to the garage he discovered that a lawnmower valued at $100, an edger tool valued at $60, 12 clamp tools valued at $30, a children’s bicycle valued at $100, a children’s scooter valued at $40 and a baby stroller valued at $40 were missing, according to police.
