Local Crime from 17th District 9-28-19

A DELIVERY DRIVER reported that a man threatened him at gunpoint after paying with counterfeit money at about 7:55 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, in the 4300 block of West Roscoe Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 43-year-old man reported that he was delivering food to the address and a man paid with $100 in cash that he determined to be counterfeit, and that when he confronted the customer he pointed a black handgun, warned him not to follow or call the police and threatened to shoot him and his restaurant’s employees before the man fled, according to police.
The man was described as about age 25, about 6-2 and 160 pounds, with brown eyes.

A DELIVERY DRIVER reported that he was robbed at gunpoint at about midnight Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the 3500 block of North Keating Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 52-year-old man reported that he was delivering food and a man paid him with a $100 bill, and that when he returned to his car a second man approached with a handgun, opened his passenger side door and demanded his keys, and that the first man also approached with a handgun, demanded his belongings and took his cellphone and $80 in cash before the men fled, according to police.
Both men were described as black and age 20 to 30.

AN EMPLOYEE of Schurz High School, 3601 N. Milwaukee Ave., reported that a student was threatened at gunpoint outside of the school at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee called police after a student reported that she saw a black car passing by the school when a male rear passenger yelled a name, flashed an apparent gang sign and pointed a handgun at a student outside the school before the car drove away north on Milwaukee, according to police. The teen reported that he was looking at his phone and didn’t see the gun pointed at him, but the assistant principal placed the school on lockdown for about an hour until police determined that there was no longer a threat to students, police said.
The male was described as black/Hispanic and about age 17 or 18.

A MAN WAS arrested at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, after he allegedly struck his former employee’s brother and roommate with a car and threatened one of them with a knife during a dispute in the 4900 block of North Albany Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A man reported that his employer called him at about 11 a.m. notifying him that he was being fired and needed to return their work van, and that his employer retrieved the van and then returned to his garage later in the afternoon, according to police. The man reported that he heard his roommate screaming in the garage, and he and his brother went to the garage and saw the employer holding a knife while yelling at the woman over a money dispute, and that their pit bull dog went loose and clenched onto the employer’s ear and also bit the man and the woman as they tried to pull the dog off, police said.
The 20-year-old reported that once the dog let go his employer entered the van and drove straight into his brother and the roommate, injuring them both and damaging his garage, and that he jumped into the van’s sliding passenger door that was left open and as the employer was driving away he said "I’m going to kill us both" and crashed into a metal fence in the 4900 block of North Whipple Street, according to police. All three were transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious conditions and the assailant was then arrested and placed in custody, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Eran Avizadris, age 37, of the 8200 block of North Kedvale Avenue, Skokie.

A WOMAN was arrested for allegedly breaking property and attacking an employee of the Lindo Michoacan restaurant and grocery, 3142 W. Lawrence Ave., at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
An employee reported that a woman ordered food and declared that she wouldn’t pay before she pulled out a knife, stabbed a bar stool and chased her around the business while throwing customers’ plates of food to the ground, and restaurant employees and customers pinned the woman to the ground until police, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Andrea Sandoval, age 32, of the 4800 block of North Kruger Avenue.

AN EMPLOYEE of the Boem restaurant, 3912 W. Montrose Ave., reported that a man was attacked in the business at about 11:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
An employee reported that a man was approached by another man in the establishment who struck him in the head with a beer bottle, and that he escorted the attacker outside but the man broke free and ran away west on Montrose, and the injured man was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition, according to police.
The assailant was described as white/Hispanic, age 30 to 40, 5-7 to 5-10, 170 to 175 pounds, with a goatee and a physical impairment on the face, and wearing a black T-shirt, a black baseball cap and blue jean shorts.

A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at knifepoint at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the 4200 block of North Saint Louis Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 30-year-old woman reported that she was carrying her daughter when a man approached, put a folding knife to her neck and demanded money, and that the man grabbed her purse from her shoulder, causing her to drop the baby, and dumped out her purse and took her wallet containing $250 in cash and her debit, state ID and LINK cards before he fled, according to police.
The man was described as black, age 18 to 25, 5-3 to 5-8, 120 to 170 pounds, with brown eyes, braided black hair, and wearing a black T-shirt and a black and red cloth covering the lower face.

A MAN REPORTED that a man cut him with a knife at about 2:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, in the 6100 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 48-year-old man reported that he got into an argument with a man by the corner of Kimball and Lincoln avenues, who then cut him on a finger with a pocketknife, according to police.
The man was described as black/Hispanic, age 40 to 45, about 5-8 and 160 pounds, black haired, and wearing a black jacket.
