Man charged in connection with Brudder’s Bar murder
17th (Albany Park) Police District commander Elias Voulgaris leads an outdoor roll call on April 14 in response to the fatal shooting of a 51-year-old bouncer on April 2 at Brudder’s Bar and Grill, 3600 N. Pulaski Road. Aldermen Ariel Reboyras (30th) and John Arena (45th) joined residents in the roll call and discussed steps they were taking to make the community safer. Since the roll call, a man was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting, according to the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs. The suspect was identified by police as Felix Valentin, age 28, of the 2200 block of North Avers Avenue.

A man was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a bouncer at Brudder’s Bar and Grill, 3600 N. Pulaski Road, at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday, April 2, according to the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs.
The suspect was identified by police as Felix Valentin, age 28, of the 2200 block of North Avers Avenue.
Valentin was arrested April 13 at his residence and was charged after he was identified as the offender responsible for firing the fatal gunshot that struck a 51-year old male victim as he worked at the tavern, police said.
On April 2, bar patrons reported that they heard shots fired through the window of the business and that the security employee had been shot, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police. The man was admitted in critical condition to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he died the following day, police said.
The deceased man was identified by police as Angel Ortiz Jr., age 51, of the 2600 block of North Normandy Avenue.
The suspect was identified by police as Felix Valentin, age 28, of the 2200 block of North Avers Avenue.
