Man dies in fire

A MAN DIED from injuries in an apartment fire at about 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in the 4800 block of West Hutchinson Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Firefighters responded to an alarm for a third floor apartment that was engulfed in flames, and residents of the multi-unit building were evacuated and the fire was extinguished about 30 minutes later, according to police. The man, about age 45, was pronounced deceased, police said. The man was not identified as of press time.
