Man fatally shot in car

A man was killed in an apparent gang-related shooting at about 1 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, in the 5100 block of West Waveland Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs and the 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man was driving with another man when a blue sport utility vehicle pulled up next to them and someone in the SUV fired shots at them, according to police. The man was shot in the back, and his vehicle struck a parked car, police said.
The man was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office as Gabriel Meneses, age 31, of the 4600 block of North Sayre Avenue, Harwood Heights. The man suffered multiple gun shot wounds, the medical examiner said.
The Area North Detective Division is investigating the incident, and no one was in custody as of Tuesday.
