Motorcyclist killed after striking truck

A Jefferson Park man was fatally injured after he crashed his motorcycle into a delivery truck at about noon Saturday, Sept. 9, in the 6700 block of North Lehigh Avenue in Edgebrook, according to the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs.
A delivery truck was turning north onto Lehigh from Hiawatha Avenue and was struck by a man riding a motorcycle south, according to police. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The man was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office as Ronald Koschalk, age 58, of the 4900 block of North Major Avenue. The cause of death was due to blunt force injures from a collision and his death was ruled an accident, the medical examiner said.
The driver of the truck was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way, police said.
