Murder-suicide reported

Detectives are investigating a possible domestic murder-suicide in which a man killed his father and his brother and then himself at about 5:35 p.m. Friday, July 17, at a home in the 4600 block of North Kostner Avenue, according to the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs.
Officers who conducted a well-being check after gunshots were reported at the home forced their way into the residence and discovered that the three men were deceased, according to police.
The victims were identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office as Jose Cervantes, age 72, and Joel Cervantes, age 29, both of the Kostner address. Jose Cervantes died of an incised wound to the neck, and Joel Cervantes died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The third man, who was identified by the examiner as Roberto Cervantes, age 38, also of the 4600 block of Kostner, died of a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a suicide.
