Nadig Newspapers celebrates 80 years
Nadig Newspapers’ Northwest Side Press has been serving this community for 80 years, and in the upcoming months we will periodically take a look back at some of the biggest issues that we have covered during that time.
Publisher Glenn Nadig has been operating our newspapers for 57 years. His wife Bette served as co-publisher until her death in 1995. Their son Brian wrote his first news article for the company 32 years ago and now operates the family business with his father.
Chicago’s Northwest Side Press, once known as the Jefferson Park Press, covers many neighborhoods in the area, and it was first published on May 1, 1940. In addition, our Reporter newspaper covers Edgebrook, Sauganash and other Chicago neighborhoods and some nearby suburbs, and it was first published on May 3, 1965.
During our 80 years, we’ve been fortunate to have thousands of loyal readers and advertisers, and more than 5,000 local children have delivered our newspapers.
