Tampered candy in Sauganash reported
The 17th (Albany Park) Police District CAPS Office posted on Twitter that tampered candy had been reported after Halloween from the area of 6100 to 6200 blocks of Knox and Kirkwood avenues and reminded adults to inspect treats for safety.
After going trick-or-treating down Knox and Kirkwood avenues, a man reported that he bit into a Kit Kat candy bar and felt something hard that turned out to be some kind of a needle, according to police. The man posted a picture of the candy on social media.

The office reminded parents to closely inspect treats for signs of tampering including if the candy is commercially wrapped and for tiny pinholes or tears in wrappers.
