Woman charged with murder in 17th District

A woman was charged with murder following her arrest at about 5:45 p.m. Friday, June 15, after she allegedly fatally shot a man earlier in the day at a home in the 5000 block of North Bernard Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot at about 9:45 a.m. and witnesses who were outside the home said that a man had been shot inside the residence, according to police.
Officers discovered a man lying on his back on the floor with a gunshot wound to his forehead in the basement and blood in a nearby bathroom, police said. One of the witnesses reported that he and the other witness were drinking alcohol with the man, woman and three others throughout the night, and the witness reported that the woman was playing around with a handgun and shot the man in his head before she fled the scene, police said.
The deceased man was identified by police and the attorney’s office as Spiros Ibrem, age 26, reportedly of Des Plaines. His death was ruled a homicide by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to the state’s attorney, witnesses observed blood on the hands of the woman who ran up the stairs and left the residence with a gun. The woman turned herself in at the 24th (Rogers Park) District police station accompanied by an attorney, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Aida Busatlic, age 23, of the 2600 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue.
