Burglary, theft arrests reported in connection with NW, North side incidents

Recent arrests have been reported in connection with several North and Northwest side burglaries and thefts, including a Nov. 3 incident in which two men allegedly broke open an “electronic entertainment/gambling machine” and took about $1,800 in cash, according to Chicago police.
The suspects reportedly were arrested at about 2:05 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, in the 2000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in connection with a burglary and theft incident that was reported several hours earlier at a gas station in the 7100 block of North Sheridan Road in the 24th (Rogers Park) District, according to police.
Two of the suspects, who were identified by police as Samir Marogail, age 34, of 2000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, and Yong Suk Lee, age 35, of the 2200 block of North Enlund Drive, Palatine, also were arrested in connection with an incident on Oct. 19 in the 6400 block of West Belmont Avenue in the 16th (Jefferson Park) District and Nov. 3 in the 3200 block of North Pulaski Road in the 17th (Albany Park) District, according to police.
Two men reportedly entered the Belford Tavern, 3200 N. Pulaski Road, at about 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, and allegedly used a crowbar to force open a gaming machine and took cash, police said. The men reportedly told patrons that everything was okay because they were “repo men,” according to police.
Marogail was charged with five felony counts of burglary and three felony counts of theft/unauthorized control, including reported incidents on Aug. 16 in the 6400 block of Belmont in the 16th District and on Sept. 27 in the 5700 block of West Fullerton Avenue in the 25th (Grand Central) District, police said. There also had been a warrant issued for the suspect, police said.
Lee was charged with two felony counts of burglary and two felony counts of theft/unauthorized control, police said.
A third suspect, who was identified by police as Timothy Blaze, age 34, of the 5500 block of S. 1100 W, Westville, Indiana, was charged with one felony count of burglary and one felony count of theft/unauthorized control in connection with the gas station incident and one felony count of possession of methamphetamine -less than 5 grams, police said.
“This was another coordinated effort of 16th District, Area 5 Detectives and Citywide Task Forces to address these types of offenders whose crimes spread across the city,” a district representative said.
