Former Elliott’s Dairy demolished to make way for car wash
SHOWN IS THE FORMER Elliott’s Dairy, 4800 N. Nagle Ave., Harwood Heights, being demolished Thursday, Dec. 21, to make way for an automatic Fuller’s Car Wash that would feature a serpentine-style layout, with the main building in the center of the lot and away from residential homes.
Car vacuum motors will be inside of the building with hoses reportedly sticking out of the facility to reduce noise after some residents expressed concerns when the initial proposal was made.
The dairy closed without notice on March 18, 2010, the day after Saint Patrick’s Day. It was in business for more than 40 years, and was famous for its corned beef.
