Local Crime from 16th District 10-16-13


A MAN WAS stabbed in an apparent gang-related incident at about 1:35 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Kings Gyros, 5233 N. Milwaukee Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

Two women, age 29 and 20, reported that they saw a gang fight between several men in the restaurant and that one of them was stabbed, according to police. The 23-year-old man, who had several stab wounds to his back, reported that he is a former gang member and that was at the restaurant with friends when a group of men from a rival gang entered the business and began a fight, police said.

The man was admitted to Lutheran General Hospital in serious but stable condition, police said.

FOUR PEOPLE were arrested in connection with an apparent gang-related incident at about 10:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in the 7200 block of West Addison Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

Two men, age 20 and 21, reported that the driver of a van pointed a gun at him while they were in a car and that three men got out of the van and threatened them, according to police. The men said that they fled and that the men in the van chased them until they until they were able to get away, police said.

Officers saw a van that matched the description that was provided in an alley of the 7700 block of West Belmont Avenue and went to a home on the block where several gang members live, according to police. The suspects were arrested after they were identified by the two men, police said.

The suspects were identified by police as Florin Mulosmani, age 21, of the 9400 block of West Enfield Avenue, Skokie, Raso Mujkovic, age 20, of the 3300 block of North Neva Avenue, Eric Rivera, age 25, of the 10000 block of Old Orchard Road, Skokie, and a 16-year-old male.

A MAN AND a woman reported that they were robbed at about 3:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, in the 5600 block of West School Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The 40-year-old man and the 23-year-old woman reported that a man asked to use a cell phone and that when they said that they did not have one, the man displayed a gun and took two cell phones from them, according to police.

The man was described as black, age 20 to 30, 6-0 to 6-2 and 170 to 180 pounds with dreadlocks, and wearing black pants and a white hooded sweatshirt.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5300 block of North Nottingham Avenue was burglarized between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the rear door was open and that a bracelet valued at $1,400, a bracelet valued at $550, a laptop computer valued at $1,200 and $300 in cash were missing, according to police.

A COUPLE reported that their home in the 4800 block of North Meade Avenue was burglarized between 2 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.

The couple reported that when they returned home they discovered that the rear door had been forced open and that a diamond ring valued at $500, a wedding ring set valued at $1,000, a ring valued at $500, diamond earrings valued at $300, a bracelet with 15 charms valued at $4,000 and $900 in cash were missing, according to police.
