Local Crime from 16th District 12-4-13

A 9-YEAR-OLD girl reported that a man attempted to lure her into his vehicle at about 4:35 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Shabbona Park, 6935 W. Addison St., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The girl reported that as she was waiting for her mother in the parking lot, a man in a red or maroon sport utility vehicle and rolled down the window, said that he had candy and asked her to get into the car, according to police. The girl reported that she ran into the fieldhouse and that the man drove away south in an alley of New England Avenue, police said.
The man was described as white/Hispanic and bald.

THE OWNER of Touch of Class Cleaners, 4646 N. Cumberland Ave., reported that a man attempted to rob the business at about 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 35-year-old woman reported that a man holding a 12-inch knife entered the business and told her to open the register, but that he fled after she ran to the back of the premises, according to police.
The man was described as white, age 25 to 30, 6-4 and 160 pounds, and wearing a gray jacket and sunglasses.

A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly attacked another patron at M.C.M. Pub and Eatery, 3906 N. Cicero Ave., at about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The owner of the tavern reported that the man became angry when he saw his wife talking to other men and that he threw several beer bottles, striking a man in the face and breaking a computer screen, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Francisco Boyas, age 32, of the 5200 block of West School Street.

A WOMAN reported that a man took her wallet at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the Whole Foods store, 6010 N. Cicero Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 63-year-old woman reported that she leaned down to pick up some items and that when she turned around she saw a man taking her wallet containing credit cards, a driver’s license and $800 in cash from her purse, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, in the 3900 block of North Leclaire Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 28-year-old man reported that two men got out of a sport utility vehicle driven by a woman and that one of them displayed a gun and took his wallet, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, in the 5100 block of West Roscoe Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 18-year-old man reported that two men in a car displayed guns, took a box cutter knife and his cell phone valued at $600, and shouted gang slogans, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 7700 block of West Addison Street was burglarized between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that two doors had been forced open and that six gold rings valued at $2,000 and $1,300 in cash were missing, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that the garage of her home in the 6800 block of West Addison Street was burglarized between 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, and 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that the side door had been forced open and that a bicycle was missing from the garage and $15 in coins were missing from her vehicle, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that someone attempted to steal his car between midnight and 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, while it was parked in the garage of his home in the 3600 block of North Newcastle Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that the side door to the garage had been forced open and that the steering console of his 1996 Cadillac Deville had pulled open, according to police.
A similar incident was reported between 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, and 10:30 a.m. the following day in the 3800 block of North Newcastle Avenue, according to police. A woman reported that she discovered that the side door to her garage had been forced open and that the ignition switch of her 1985 Oldsmobile vehicle was broken, police said.

A WOMAN reported that her parents’ home in the 6300 block of West Giddings Street was burglarized between 11:30 a.m. and 6:25 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she dropped off her mother and father at their home she discovered that the front door had been forced open and that 25 gold rings, necklaces and stones, a silver cutlery set, 10 watches and war medals, $200 in cash and jewelry were missing, according to police.
