Local Crime from 16th District 2-22-17
A COUPLE reported that they were attacked at about 3:40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Shell gas station, 5201 W. Addison St., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 33-year-old woman reported that as she was pumping gas at the station, a man punched her in the face, according to police. The 27-year-old man reported that he and his girlfriend had an argument with two men and that a second man struck him on the head with a baseball bat, police said.
EMPLOYEES reported that the Subway restaurant, 4070 N. Milwaukee Ave., was robbed at about 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employees reported that a man entered the store carrying a paper bag, implied that he had a gun in the bag and took $140 from the cash register, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 8:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, in the 3300 block of North Harlem Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 43-year-old woman reported that a man took her purse containing her cell phone, a wallet with credit cards and $64 in cash, according to police. The woman said that she chased the man and that when she caught up to him and attempted to get her purse back, he pushed her to the ground and ran away, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about 1:55 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the 6500 block of West Irving Park Road, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 51-year-old man reported that as he was walking through a parking lot with his 65-year-old wife, a van almost struck them, according to police. The man said that he shouted at the driver and that the man got out of the car, punched him in the face and pushed him to the ground, police said.
A MAN WAS stabbed at about 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at a home in the 3300 block of North Lavergne Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 35-year-old woman reported that her 14-year-old son intervened in a fight with her 35-year-old boyfriend and that during the struggle her son accidentally stabbed her in the forearm with a letter opener and then stabbed her boyfriend in the chest several times, according to police. The man was admitted to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at the CTA Cumberland Blue Line station, 5800 N. Cumberland Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 50-year-old man reported that two men forced him off the train at the station, punched and kicked him and took his cell phone and his backpack containing identification and gym shoes, according to police. The man reported that he woke up at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center with injuries to his head, back and mouth, police said.
THREE teenagers reported that they were threatened at about 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, in the 5100 block of West Addison Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 16-year-old teenagers reported that a man and a woman in a passing car shouted that they would shoot them, according to police.
THE SHOP and Save Market, 6312 N. Nagle Ave., was burglarized at about 4:10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers responding to an alarm discovered that the rear door had been pried open and that cash registers and a safe had been opened, according to police. A surveillance video shows that three men wearing ski masks broke into the store and took about $1,100 from the registers, police said.
AN EMPLOYEE reported that Martin’s Fresh Market, 5900 W. Montrose Ave., was burglarized between 5 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A surveillance video shows that four men broke into the business and that one of them took $300 from a cash register, according to police.
AN AT&T employee reported that four backup batteries valued at $1,600 were stolen between 11 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, from a storage cabinet in an alley in the 5900 block of West Berenice Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Also, an employee reported that batteries valued at $2,400 were stolen between 8:10 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, from a storage cabinet in an alley in the 6000 block of West Henderson Street, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that a man threatened her at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, as she was driving in the 6000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 22-year-old woman reported that a man cut her off in traffic and then displayed gang signs and followed her as she drove down side streets, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4900 block of West Hutchinson Street was burglarized at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that a rear door was open and that a laptop computer and $70 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6800 block of West Foster Avenue was burglarized at about 6:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the side door was open and that three watches, two necklaces, a laptop computer and an iPad were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 4000 block of North Mason Avenue was burglarized at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she parked her car in her garage she saw a man sitting in a Jeep in the alley and that she discovered that the side door had been forced open and that a case containing four to five boxes of shotgun shells was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5100 block of North Mason Avenue was burglarized between 7 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the side door had been forced open and that two pairs of earrings valued at $200 and necklaces, earrings and bracelets valued at $100 were missing, according to police.
THEFTS OF catalytic converters from vehicles were reported between Feb. 13 and Feb. 17, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Thefts were reported in the 5100 block of North New England Avenue, the 6900 block of West Berwyn Avenue, the 6400 block of North Olympia Avenue, the 6500 block of North Otsego Avenue, the 6200 block of North Nordica Avenue, the 4800 block of West Pensacola Avenue and the 4900 block of West Cullom Avenue, according to police.
