TWO MEN were arrested at about 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, in connection with allegedly spray-painting graffiti on buildings in the 5400 block of West Montrose Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 31-year-old man reported that he saw three men walking and two of them allegedly painted a building across the street from him, according to police. Officers saw two men walking and one of the suspects allegedly threw punches at an officer while he was being taken into custody in the 5400 block of West Sunnyside Avenue, police said. The other suspect was arrested later in the 4200 block of North Central Avenue, according to police.
A third man who reportedly was seen near the buildings at the time of the spray painting but was not apprehended, police said.
The suspects were identified by police as Jovanni A. Bahamundi, age 23, of the 9800 block of Schiller Boulevard, Franklin Park, and Julio J. Acanda, age 23, of the 1600 block of North Keystone Avenue.
A WOMAN reported that a man with a handgun attempted to rob her at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, June 11, in the 4800 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 47-year-old woman reported that she was in her car and talking on her phone when a man with his face covered by a bandana approached her passenger side window holding a handgun that she drove away after he tried opening a rear passenger door, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED the garage of his home in 5400 block of West Wilson Avenue was burglarized between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered the side door had been unlocked and that three bicycles and two bike helmets valued at $1,110 were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported the garage of her home in the 5500 block of West Roscoe Street was burglarized between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned to the garage she discovered that the side door had been opened and that an air compressor, two bicycles and a motor scooter were stolen from, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3300 block of North Neenah Avenue was burglarized between 8:30 a.m. and 1:25 p.m. Friday, June 9, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the rear window had been broken and that $3,000 worth of jewelry and $500 in cash were missing, according to police.
