A WOMAN reported that a man attempted to sexually assault her at about 11:50 p.m. Sunday, June 26, in the 4100 block of North Narragansett Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 18-year-old woman reported that as she crossed a yard at Narragansett and Belle Plaine avenues, a man wearing a ski mask approached her from behind, covered her mouth and threatened to cut her, according to police. The woman said that the man cut open her shirt with a knife, threw her to the ground, got on top of her and started to unbutton her pants until he saw a vehicle and ran away, police said.
The man was described as white, 6-0 to 6-2 and 150 to 200 pounds, and wearing a black ski mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about noon Monday, June 20, in the 4900 block of North Lamon Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 46-year-old man reported that two men got out of a sport utility vehicle and one of them displayed a handgun and the other forced him into the back seat and took $400 and a gold chain from him, according to police. The man said that one of the men struck him on the nose and pushed him out of the car, police said.
One of the men was described as white, age 35 to 40, 5-6 and 170 pounds. The other man was described as white, age 30, 5-6 and 170 pounds, and wearing a black jacket and black pants.
A WOMAN reported that a man took her purse at about 8 p.m. Monday, June 27, in the 5500 block of West Giddings Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 62-year-old woman reported that a man wearing a surgical mask got out of a station wagon driven by a second man, took her purse containing her cell phone, two gift cards, three debit cards and $50, and fled in the car, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he was the victim of a scam at about 1 p.m. Friday, June 24, at his home in the 6500 block of North Central Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 87-year-old man reported that two men approached him in the back yard and said that he needed concrete work on his porch and one of them convinced him to give them a check for $4,200, according to police. The man said that the men applied a sealant to the porch and that when his daughter came home they fled, police said. The man said that he called the bank and canceled the check, police said.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Metro PCS store, 5150 W. Belmont Ave., reported that a man took merchandise at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man asked to see two cell phones valued at $169 and that as he was activating them the man fled with the phones, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that he discovered a burned cross at about 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, in the front yard of his home in the 4400 block of North Monitor Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5200 block of West Berenice Avenue was burglarized between 10:45 a.m. and 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that four rings valued at $700, two cell phones valued at $350 and two jars containing $150 were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his car was burglarized between 8 p.m. Saturday, June 25, and 10 a.m. the following day, while it was parked in the 5700 block of North Menard Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that a lock had been punched and that two bags containing $400 worth of clothing, shoes valued at $200, an iron, a cell phone and an identification card were missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her car was burglarized at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, while it was parked in the 4000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The woman reported that she discovered that a window had been broken and that a purse containing debit cards was missing, according to police.
