A MAN WAS shot at about 4:15 p.m. Saturday, July 29, while he was jogging in the 7800 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 29-year-old man reported that while he was jogging on the north side of the sidewalk, he felt a pain in his left calf and discovered a gunshot wound, according to police.
The man was transported by a friend to Resurrection Medical Center and was treated for a minor gunshot wound, according to police.
THE OWNER of the Quick Stop store, 4440 N. Milwaukee Ave., reported that the store was burglarized at about 2:50 a.m. Thursday, July 27, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers responded to a commercial alarm and discovered that glass on the front door had been pried open and the owner arrived and reported that he discovered a case of lottery tickets valued at $12,900, 20 packages of cigarettes and $200 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 5300 block of West Montrose Avenue was burglarized between 6 a.m. Thursday, June 29, and 4 p.m. Saturday, July 29, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered the front door had been forced open and that $500 in cash was missing, according to police.
THE PASTOR of Saint John of Rila Church, 5944 W. Cullom Ave., reported that the church was vandalized between 5 p.m. Saturday, July 29, and 10 a.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The pastor reported that he discovered the electrical cords to the kitchen refrigerator had been cut, that the church van has been defaced with gray spray paint and that several religious objects in the church sanctuary had been knocked over, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly threatened a man with two knives and pointed a handgun at a police officer at about 9:05 a.m. Saturday, July 29, in the 3300 block of North Oriole Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
A 45-year-old man reported that a man approached him and shouted, "What you looking at? Get out of my neighborhood, call the cops," and that the man then chased after him and continued to shout at him while holding two knives, according to police.
Officers saw the man sitting on his front porch holding a handgun and that he stood up, pointed the weapon at the officers, walked toward them and shouted "What are you going to do?" before walking northbound in the middle of the street toward them, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Roger M. Hennessy, age 36, of the 3300 block of North Oriole Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that his vehicle was burglarized at about midnight Friday, July 28, in the 4900 block of West Hutchinson Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned to his vehicle he discovered that a Dell laptop computer valued at $1,000, three backpacks valued at $150 and a package of trail mix valued at $10 were missing, according to police.
SEVERAL vehicle thefts were reported on the Northwest Side between July 21 and July 30, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Vehicles were reported stolen in the 6700 block of West Roscoe Street, the 5400 block of North Northwest Highway, the 5200 block of West Warner Avenue, the 4200 block of North Mason Avenue, the 3300 block of North Laramie Avenue and the 6400 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, according to police.
