Local Crime from 17th District 10-11-14

A MAN REPORTED that a man pointed at gun at him at about 8:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in the 4800 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 31-year-old man reported that he was stopped at a red light and that a vehicle containing two men and a woman stopped next to him and one of the men tapped a gun on the driver’s-side window of his car, according to police. The man said that he saw a woman duck in the back seat that he believes was his ex-girlfriend, police said.

A WOMAN reported that a man fired a gun at her vehicle at about 6:35 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, in the 3300 block of North Avers Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 19-year-old woman reported that as she turned onto Avers she saw people arguing in the street and that a man fired a gun in her direction and bullets struck her car, according to police. The woman said that she drove in reverse and struck a parked vehicle, police said.

A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly threatened two women with a gun at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the 7-Eleven store, 3600 W. Belmont Ave., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 23-year-old employee reported that a man entered the store and attempted to purchase beer and that when she asked him for identification he threatened to shoot her if she did not sell him the alcohol, according to police. An 18-year-old employee reported that the man opened his coat to display a handgun, police said. The suspect was arrested based on the description that was provided, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Jesus E. Medina, age 39, of the 3900 block of West Belmont Avenue.

A MAN AND a teenager men were arrested after they allegedly stole a man’s car at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the 3600 block of West Peterson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 76-year-old man reported that he parked his 1998 Mercedes in his garage and that two men approached and one of them punched him, knocking him to the ground, and the two drove away in his car, according to police. Officers saw the car being driven in the 5100 block of North Pulaski Road, and several squad cars chased the car until it struck a vehicle at Beacon Street and Wilson Avenue, police said.
The suspects were identified by police as Joe Milton, age 21, of the 5300 block of West Van Buren Street, and a 17-year-old male.

A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 11:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in the 4200 block of North Keystone Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 40-year-old woman reported that a man grabbed her from behind, punched her and took her purse containing credit cards and a cell phone, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3500 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue was burglarized between 6:30 a.m. and 1:05 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the basement window was broken and that jewelry, two laptop computers and an unknown amount of coins were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 3400 block of North Albany Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the side door had been forced open and that three handguns, a watch valued at $1,500, a necklace, a pendant, two earrings, six Nike Michael Jordan pairs of shoes, a ring, a laptop computer, a Play Station 4 video game console, a collection of 2,000 collectible comic books valued at $7,000, 300 "Star Wars" figures valued at $1,500, seven flower pots, jewelry valued at $3,000, six necklaces valued at $3,000, three paintings valued at $8,000, two pairs of sunglasses and a purse were missing, according to police.

TWO WOMEN reported that their home in the 3400 block of North Kenton Avenue was burglarized between 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The women reported that when they returned home they discovered that a side window had been forced open and that a laptop computer, two iPads, an iPod case, earrings, a ring, a digital videodisc player, three necklaces and $700 in cash were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4000 block of West Eddy Street was burglarized between 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door had been forced open and that a watch valued at $500, a camera valued at $500, three money clips, an a silver coin valued at $30 were missing, according to police.

TWO MEN reported that their home in the 4900 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue was burglarized between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the back door was open and that jewelry valued at $7,000 and $7,000 in cash were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 4300 block of North Keeler Avenue was burglarized between 7:50 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door had been forced open and that a Play Station 4 video game console, a video game and $3,100 in cash were missing, according to police.

A COUPLE reported that their home in the 4700 block of North Bernard Street was burglarized between Sept. 19 and Oct. 2, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man and the woman reported that when they returned home from vacation they discovered that the rear door was open and that credit cards, a laptop computer valued at $900, a television set, an Xbox 360 video game console valued at $600 and a pocket knife valued at $200 were missing, according to police.

LINCOLNWOOD

A WOMAN reported that her fanny pack was stolen from her car at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, while it was parked at the Mobil gas station, 6777 N. Lincoln Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
The woman reported that she pumped gas and went inside the station to pay for it and that when she returned to the car the fanny pack containing checks, $100 in cash and a cell phone was missing, according to police.

A MAN WAS arrested on retail theft charges after he allegedly shoplifted items from the Kohl’s store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 6:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the man take a jacket and jeans valued at $233 into a changing room and leave the store wearing the items, according to police. Officers found the suspect trying to hide near Centennial Park in the 7200 block of North McCormick Boulevard, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Ahmed A. Ali, age 20, of the 4900 block of North Kentucky Avenue.

TWO WOMEN were arrested after they allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman place about $764 worth of jewelry and clothing in their purses and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.
The suspects were identified by police as Mariann G. Gabriel, age 23, of the 6500 block of North Lawndale Avenue, and Mariam Bijou, age 23, of the 6200 block of North Albany Avenue.
