Local Crime from 17th District 11-25-17





A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly attacked an officer during a domestic related incident at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at a home in the 4000 block of West Patterson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 45-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman, the man’s father and grandmother, reported that the man was allegedly drinking alcohol and had an argument about using the dad’s vehicle, according to police. The father reported that the man threatened them and that when officers encountered him in the kitchen in a boxing stance, an altercation ensued and the man allegedly choked an officer twice and was arrested after he was subdued, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Jacob Love, age 18, of the 4000 block of West Patterson Avenue.

A MAN REPORTED that a man struck him with a vehicle in the parking lot of the Home Depot, 6211 N. Lincoln Ave., at about 2:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 42-year-old man reported that a man in a red Mini Cooper drove toward him and that when he tried to dodge the vehicle the driver intentionally swerved into him, striking his arm with the car’s mirror, according to police.
The man was described as white and age 40 to 45.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 1:50 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in the 4100 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 19-year-old man reported that he met with an acquaintance to loan her $40 in cash, and that she approached his home in a grey Toyota sport utility vehicle with two other men and he entered the car, according to police.
The man reported that as they drove the man in the front passenger seat pointed a gun at him, demanded his belongings, and took his cellphone, a winter jacket, and about $60 in cash before letting him out in the 4100 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue, according to police.
The armed man was described as black, age 23 to 28, about 6-0 and 190 pounds, with brown hair, and wearing a black skullcap, grey sweater, black T-shirt and grey sweatpants. The man driving was described as white, age 20 to 30, approximately 6-2 and 170 pounds, with brown hair, and wearing a white T-shirt.

A MAN REPORTED he was robbed at gunpoint at about 11:50 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, in the 4600 block of North Manor Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 23-year-old man reported that he was walking with two men and they discovered that three other men followed them, according to police. The men reported that one of the men asked their gang affiliation and pointed a gun at him and the other men covered his face with their hands, grabbed him by the neck, and took his iPhone and wallet containing credit cards, a driver’s license and movie theater vouchers, according to police.
The armed man was described as age 20 to 25, about 5-7 to 5-8, 135 to 150 pounds, and wearing a black ski mask. The second man was described as about 5-6 to 5-8 and 130 to 140 pounds. The third man was described as about 6-1 to 6-2, 150 to 160 pounds, and wearing a jacket with red and white stripes.

A MAN REPORTED that he was robbed at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, in the 4500 block of North Troy Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that two men wearing ski masks approached him from behind, that one man stuck an object in his side and threatened to shoot and they took his iPhone and wallet containing debit cards as well as the personal identification number to one card, according to police.

A TEENAGER reported that her family’s apartment in the 5600 block of North Spaulding Avenue was burglarized at about 3:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 15-year-old female reported that when she returned home she heard footsteps inside, and that she called her mother, who told her to stay away until she arrived, according to police. The 40-year-old mother reported that she returned home at 6 p.m. and discovered that the rear door had been opened and a a pair of white-gold diamond earrings valued at $400, a stainless steel watch valued at $30, and five pairs of Jordan-brand sneakers valued at $1,000 were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 3700 block of North Whipple Street was burglarized between 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 39-year-old man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the front door has been broken and that a PlayStation 3 video game console was missing, according to police.

A WOMAN reported that her apartment in the 5600 block of North Kimball Avenue was burglarized between 8:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 36-year-old woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the rear window had been opened and the rear door had been unlocked and that a 46-inch television set valued at $400, two Samsung tablet computers valued at $120 total, two laptop computers valued at $450 total, a Sony digital camera valued at $120, a box containing $2,000 worth of jewelry, and $3,000 in cash were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 4500 block of North Sawyer Avenue was burglarized between noon and 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 31-year-old man reported that that when he returned home he discovered that the rear window had been forced open and that 14-karat gold necklace and $2,000 in cash were missing, according to police.
