Local Crime from 17th District 12-28-19

A MAN WAS shot at about 3:40 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Shell gas station, 3700 W. Addison St., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 30-year-old man reported that he parked at the gas station so his girlfriend could use the restroom when a man approached and opened fire, striking him in the right buttock, according to police. The man was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition but was later updated to stable condition, police said.
Officers discovered about 15 spent shell casings on the sidewalk in the 3600 block of North Avondale, according to police.
The shooter was described as white/Hispanic, wearing a gray skull cap, gray jacket and black shoes.

AN EMPLOYEE of the Subway restaurant, 3346 W. Foster Ave., reported that the business was robbed at about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man entered the store abd put a knife on her arm and demanded money and tookk $324 in cash, according to police.
The man was described as white/ Hispanic, age 20 and 26, 5-7 to 5-9, 180 and 200 pounds, with curly black hair, and wearing a dark blue jacket and black gym shoes.

AN EMPLOYEE of the 7-Eleven store, 5610 N. Kimball Avenue, reported that the store was robbed at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man asked for cigarettes and when the cigarettes were placed on the counter the man said, "Don’t move… give me the cigarettes or I’ll shoot you," implying he had a gun, according to police. The man never displayed a weapon but took the cigarettes and fled northbound on North Kimball Avenue, police said.
The man was described as white, age 30, with a beard, and wearing a black jacket.

AN EMPLOYEE of the Lockal Bar and Quick Bite, 3256 W. Lawrence Ave., reported that two men attempted to rob the business at about 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee reported that two men entered the bar and one of the men pointed a gun at him and demanded his belongings and when he told the men they need to get out and they noticed video cameras they fled, police said.
The men were described as white /Hispanic. One of the men was described as being 40 to 50 years of age, 5-7, weighing 200 pounds with long brown hair and wearing a dark blue jacket with a red stripe across the chest. The other man was described as being 20 to 30 years of age, 5-9, weighing 160 pounds and wearing a light brown jacket.

SHOTS were fired at about 2 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, in the 4600 block of North Kedzie Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A witness reported that shots were fired from a champagne-colored BMW and officers recovered two spent 9mm shell casings in the street, according to police.

SHOTS were fired at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, in the 3600 block of North Albany Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Witnesses reported that they heard gun fire and saw two to three men run westbound down the alley, according to police. Other witnesses reported a black Honda Accord driving northbound on North Albany Avenue at a high rate of speed, police said. Officers recovered six spent 9mm shell casings, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was threatened with a baseball bat at about 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, in the 5500 block of North Christiana Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 27-year-old man reported that he was exiting an alley when a woman driving a red Nissan nearly hit his vehicle, according to police. The man reported that the woman then exited her vehicle and threatened him with a baseball bat, police said.
The woman was described as black.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5000 block of North Albany Avenue was burglarized between 1:45 and 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home her front door was open, the wood door frame was damaged and her belongings were on the floor, according to police.
