A MAN WAS shot at about 4:05 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, in the 4600 block of North Kimball Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 25-year-old man reported that a man threatened him and shot him in the left thigh, according to police. The man reported that he is homeless was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious but stable condition, police said.
A CHICAGO Fire Department firefighter was shot at about 1 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, in the 3300 block of West Wilson Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers responded to a call of a car on fire and discovered that a firefighter was lying on the ground by the car, according to police.
The 36-year-old firefighter reported that he was shot in the left shin and he was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital, police said. Officers located several shell casings in the area and multiple residents reported that bullets had struck the windows of their homes, according to police.
Following an investigation, officers arrested a man in connection with the shooting at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in the 2800 block of West Irving Park Road, according to CPD Office of News Affairs.
The suspect was identified by police as Hollis Williams, age 29, of the 4400 block of North Francisco Ave. He was charged with felony battery of a firefighter and a police officer, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and cited for multiple traffic violations.
A MAN REPORTED that he was shot at about 3 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, in the 4200 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 30-year-old man reported that he was driving west on Belmont when a small four-door sedan pulled up beside his vehicle and fired shots at him, striking him in the left calf and the right thigh, according to police. The man was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in good condition, police said. Officers recovered 12 shell casings at the scene and observed nine bullet holes in the man’s vehicle, according to police.
AN EMPLOYEE of the Subway restaurant, 3346 W. Foster Ave., reported that the restaurant was robbed at about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man waited in line at the restaurant and when she asked how she could help him he pointed a gun at her and told her to empty the register and took $230 in cash and fled northbound into the alley, police said.
The man was described as Asian/Pacific Islander, age 18 to 29, 5-8 to 6-1, between 120 and 160 pounds and wearing a black jacket and dark blue sweatpants.
A MAN REPORTED that his apartment in the 3200 block of West Wilson Avenue was burglarized at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that when he returned home he discovered that the rear window of his apartment had been broken and $4,800 in jewelry was missing, according to police.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5500 block of North Spaulding Avenue was burglarized at about 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the front door had been forced open and the and that $150 in cash, $20 in jewelry and $20 in Susan B. Anthony dollars were missing, police said.
A WOMAN reported that her home in the 5100 block of North Kilbourn Avenue was burglarized at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered a ladder against the side of her home, leading to the kitchen window and that $400 in cash and a box full of various internet passwords were missing, according to police.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 6300 block of North Kedvale Avenue was burglarized at about 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that he discovered that his Glock 9mm handgun was missing from his stock room, according to police.
