Local Crime from 17th District 5-2-15

A WOMAN reported that a woman threatened her with a box cutter at her home in the 3000 block of West Addison Street at about 6:55 a.m. Saturday, April 25, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 43-year-old woman reported that she woke up and discovered that her boyfriend was not with her and that when she called his cell phone she discovered that he was in the basement with another woman, according to police. The woman reported that when she approached the two, the woman threatened her with a box cutter and then she dropped the weapon and fled, police said.

A WOMAN WAS arrested after she allegedly stabbed a man at about 3:35 a.m., Sunday, April 26, at the North Park Inn Motel, 6250 N. Lincoln Ave., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
A 27-year-old man reported that during an argument the woman stabbed him in the back twice with a switchblade knife, according to police. The 20-year-old woman reported that the man punched her in the face twice and forced himself on top of her and that she pulled the knife from her purse and stabbed him in self-defense, police said.
The man was admitted to Saint Francis Hospital in serious condition, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Malika Fort-Bolar, age 20, of the 300 block of Winnebago Avenue, Park Forest.

A MAN WAS arrested at about midnight Sunday, April 26, after he allegedly caused a disturbance at the Admiral Theater, 4045 W. Lawrence Ave., according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
An employee reported that the man was causing a disturbance and that he told him to leave, according to police. The employee said that the man left the club, returned with a beer bottle and threw it toward him when he was denied re-entry, police said. The suspect arrest, threatened officers and shouted gang slogans at them, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Thomas Gerhardt, age 31, of the 5000 block of West Sunnyside Avenue.

A WOMAN reported that she was robbed at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, in the 4200 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 28-year-old woman reported that two men approached her and that one of them displayed a handgun and took her cell phone, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked and robbed at about 11 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, in the 3700 block of West Argyle Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 34-year-old man reported that someone grabbed him from behind and knocked him to the ground, causing him to lose consciousness, according to police. The man said that when he regained consciousness he discovered that his cell phone was missing, police said.

A WOMAN reported that her home in the 3900 block of North Tripp Avenue was burglarized between 6:30 and 7:40 p.m. Monday, April 27, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that the rear door and the basement door had been broken in and that three iMac computers valued at $1,700 were missing, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5200 block of North Kimball Avenue was burglarized at about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The man reported that he was taking a nap while his mother was in the back yard and that he was awakened by the sound of a man in the home holding his mother’s keys, according to police. The resident said that the man ran out of the home with the keys and that he discovered that $710 was missing from a dresser, police said.

LINCOLNWOOD

A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 7200 block of North East Prairie Road was burglarized at about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, according to Lincolnwood police.
The man reported that he received a phone call from a representative of a burglar alarm company who said that his home alarm had been activated and that he discovered that the side door of the home had been forced open and that four watches and a box containing jewelry were missing, according to police.

AN EMPLOYEE was arrested after he allegedly stole money from the Kohl’s department store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
A loss prevention officer reported that store management had become suspicious of the employee after her cash register was short on several occasions, and the employee was arrested after she was observed concealing $420 in cash during separate customer cash transactions on April 19, April 21 and April 23, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Carmen Quezada, age 28, of the 4800 block of North Saint Louis Avenue.

A MAN WAS arrested after he allegedly drove a car into a wall of the Oberweis Dairy store, 6469 N. Lincoln Ave., at about 4:20 p.m. Saturday, April 25,according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that a man struck the wall of the store parking lot with his vehicle and drove away, according to police. A witness provided the vehicle’s license plate number, and when officers went to the address where the vehicle was registered, the owner’s nephew admitted that he accidentally drove into the wall, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as Muhammad Talha Habib, age 33, of the 6400 block of North Artesian Avenue.

A WOMAN WAS arrested after she allegedly shoplifted items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the Lincolnwood Town Center, 3333 W. Touhy Ave., at about 2:20 p.m. Thursday, April 23, according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that he saw the woman take three pairs of jeans and three t-shirts valued at $289 into the fitting room and leave the store without paying for the items, according to police.

A MAN WAS arrested at about 8:45 a.m. Monday, April 27, after he allegedly caused damage at the Grossinger Autoplex, 6700 N. Lincoln Ave., according to Lincolnwood police.
An employee reported that as a man attempted to drive his vehicle into the service bay area he drove into the overhead garage door, causing $1,000 in damage to the door and its frame, then reversed out of the service area, got out of his vehicle and walked away, according to police. The suspect was arrested after officers found him walking nearby, police said. The man resisted arrest, and officers discovered a throwing knife in his possession, police said according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Peter Patsais, age 32, of the 4800 block of Birchwood Avenue, Skokie.
