Local Crime from 17th District 5-2-20

A MAN REPORTED that his vehicle was damaged by bullets at about 9:35 p.m. Thursday, April 23, in the 3500 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 25-year-old man reported that he was driving north on Pulaski Road when the driver’s side window shattered, according to police. The man reported that he did not see who shot at him or from where and officers observed bullet holes in the passenger side rear door and in the rear hatchback window of the vehicle and that the driver’s side front and passenger side rear windows were shattered, according to police.

A DELIVERY driver reported that he was attacked at Sam’s Chicken and Ribs restaurant, 3220 N. Kimball Ave., at about 8:25 p.m. Friday, April 24, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The driver reported that he got into a verbal argument with an employee about the length of time an order was taking and the altercation became physical when the employee allegedly grabbed him, pulled him into the kitchen area and threw a glass tip jar at him, causing a laceration across the palm of his left hand, according to police. The man reported that he then punched the employee in response and during the altercation his phone was damaged, police said. The driver declined to press charges but was advised of warrant procedures should he decide to pursue an arrest at a later time, according to police.

A MAN REPORTED that he was carjacked at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, April 25, in the 3900 block of North Whipple Street, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 59-year-old man reported that he was standing near his vehicle when a man demanded keys to his vehicle and when he refused the man struck him in the forehead with a gun, according to police. The man reported that the man grabbed his keys to his 2018 Nissan Rogue and fled south on Whipple Street, police said.
The man was described as white, 5-9 to 5-10, wearing a white t-shirt and black pants.

A MAN REPORTED that two people attempted to rob him at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at the BP gas station, 4359 N. Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The 30-year-old man reported that he was waiting in line to make a purchase when a man and a woman demanded money and said they would hurt him if he did not give it to them, according to police. The man reported that he did not see any weapons and he was able to hold them off when they tried to push him, police said. The man reported that the couple then fled on foot east on Montrose Avenue, according to police.
The man was described as black, age 17 to 20, 5-7 to 6-0, 170 to 185 pounds, with short hair. The woman was described as black, age 17 to 20, 5-5 to 5-7, 140 to 150 pounds, with medium length hair.

A WOMAN reported that her apartment in the 3800 block of North Christiana Avenue was burglarized between 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, and 12:55 a.m. Sunday, April 26, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
The woman reported that when she returned home she discovered that a video game S console and two controllers valued at $310 and $14 cash were missing, according to police. The woman’s father reported that when he returned home he found the door closed and the deadbolt was locked, police said.

SHOTS WERE fired at about 1:40 a.m. Monday, April 27, in the 4900 block of North Pulaski Road, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police.
Officers on patrol heard several shots fired from a silver Audi sedan at the intersection of Pulaski Road and Ainslie Street and the vehicle fled west with officers in pursuit, according to police. A witness reported that the silver Audi fired shots at a dark-colored sedan, which fled in an unknown direction, police said. Officers found nine spent 40-cliber caliber shell casings and four spent 40-caliber shell casings, according to police.
