AN EMPLOYEE reported that the Mobil gas station, 4409 N. Central Ave., was robbed at about 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 43-year-old employee reported that a man displayed a gun, took $300 in cash from the register and fled north on Central, according to police.
The man was described as white, age 20 to 30, 5-10 and 170 pounds, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a black and white insignia on the left shoulder and black pants.
A MAN WAS arrested on public indecency charges at about noon Friday, July 5, at Portage Park, 4100 N. Long Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Witnesses reported that a man was walking through the park exposing his genitals, and the suspect was arrested at Long and Berteau avenues, according to police.
The subject was identified by police as Alex L. Kotsukos, age 69, of the 4000 block of North Cicero Avenue.
A MAN WAS arrested on drug charges at about 3:05 p.m. Friday, July 5, in the 4400 block of North McVicker Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
After officers stopped a car that went through a stop sign, it was discovered that the driver did not have a driver’s license, and during a search officers found 1.6 grams of a substance suspected of being heroin in the man’s possession, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Matthew D. Augustyn, age 29, of the 4400 block of North McVicker Avenue.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday, July 7, in the 4500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 24-year-old man reported that when he confronted two men who were abusing a woman, they punched and kicked him and one of them struck him with a hydraulic jack that he got from a car, according to police. The man said that the men fled with the woman in a 1998 Audi, police said. The man was treated at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, police said.
A MAN REPORTED that he was attacked at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, July 4, at the Brewery tavern, 3848 N. Harlem Ave., according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The 49-year-old man reported that he got into an argument with a man at the bar, and the man returned with five other men and struck him on the head with a beer bottle, causing lacerations to the forehead and nose, and the men knocked him to the ground, causing a broken ankle, according to police. The man was treated at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, police said.
AN EMPLOYEE at an optometrist’s office, 4968 N. Milwaukee Ave., reported that a man stole eyeglass frames at about 3 p.m. Friday, July 5, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The employee reported that a man placed 14 pairs of eyeglass frames valued at $3,500 under his shirt and left the office, according to police.
The man was described as black, age 40 to 45, 6-0 and 230 pounds, and wearing gray baggy T-shirt and tan shorts.
A MAN REPORTED that his home in the 5000 block of North Ottawa Avenue was burglarized between 11:55 p.m. Thursday, July 4, and 7 a.m. the following day, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
The man reported that when he awakened he discovered that the bedroom window was open and that a watch valued at $1,000 and $25 in cash were missing, according to police.
A MAN WAS arrested on drug charges at about 3 p.m. Saturday, July 6, in the 4800 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
After officers stopped a car that was being drive without brake lights, they discovered a bag containing suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms in the console of the vehicle, according to police.
The suspect was identified by police as Tony Gonzalez, age 29, of the 4900 block of West Melrose Street.
A 2003 Honda Accord was set on fire at about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, in the 5100 block of West Gunnison Street, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
WORLD WIDE LIQUORS, 6715 N. Northwest Hwy., was burglarized at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, July 7, according to 16th (Jefferson Park) District police.
Officers who responded to a burglary alarm call discovered that a lock on the front gate and the front door had been forced open, and employees reported that $500 in cash was missing, according to police.
