Murder suspect charged in shooting on NW Side

A man was charged on Feb. 12 with first degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man on Jan. 20 on the Northwest Side, according to the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs.
The suspect was identified by police as Tramian Barnes, age 18, of the 400 block of South May Street, Joliet.
Federal marshals arrested Barnes on Jan. 31 in Columbus, Ga., after he was identified as the offender and a homicide warrant was issued, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
The man was being sought by the Chicago Police Department for murder in connection to the shooting that occurred at about 10:20 p.m. Jan. 20 in the 4300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. Barnes was apprehended without incident at about 9:30 a.m. Jan. 31, federal officials said.
A 19-year-old man reported that he was a passenger in a car belonging to an acquaintance and that the acquaintance shot him, according to police. The man walked to his home in the 5000 block of West Cullom Avenue, and his friends called for assistance, police said.
The man, who was identified as Alex Anderson, was shot in the stomach and the arm, and he died of his wounds at Illinois Masonic Hospital the following day, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
