New traffic signal being installed at Devon-Le Mai intersection in Edgebrook

Construction on the installation of a new traffic signal at Devon and Le Mai avenues was scheduled to start on Monday, Dec. 17, and will continue through March, according to Alderman Anthony Napolitano (41st).
No permanent lane closures are expected during the construction, but there will be temporary lane closures during non-rush hour times, Napolitano said in his Dec. 14 newsletter.
“This project will also include new ADA ramps, new curb and gutter and new pavement markings. Alderman (Margaret) Laurino and I worked together on this project, and we are very excited to see it come to fruition,” Napolitano said.
In 2012 a local Boy Scout leader was killed near the intersection in an accident while riding his bicycle, and earlier this year a motorcyclist was killed in an accident there.
